Federal Sales Internship Cisco Sep 2022–

Selected to participate in corporate fellowship collaborating with the Federal Sales team to learn about the various positions within the company, with a focus on Systems Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales. Areas of emphasis included Cyber Security Sales, SD-WAN and Cisco Certified DevNet Associate certification.

Operations Director, Cyber Experimentation U.S. Army 2020 – 2022

Provided operationally focused experimentation that informed Cyber, Electronic Warfare, Network, Tactical Radio, concepts, and organizational structure changes that supported capability development. Conducted experimentation using prototyping, demonstration, simulations, and subject matter expertise that supported the Army's modernization efforts enabling rapid fielding of materiel solutions and processes.

Planned and conducted Fort Gordon's largest field-based experiment, Cyber Quest, which informed the development of Multi-Domain operational Cyber/Signal capabilities. Mitigated COVID threat and successfully integrated 20 technologies and over 200 people from multiple vendors and government agencies.

Conducted 11 experiments in the areas of Tactical Radios, Offensive Cyber Operations, Information Advantage, and Electronic Warfare. These efforts allowed the Department of Defense and the Army to identify and mitigate critical gaps in current force structure.

Provided input and technical expertise on modernization of experimentation networks as part of a reorganization of the Cyber Battle Lab.

Systems Engineer Manager U.S. Army 2017 - 2020

Led the engineering and Information Technology (IT) support for all Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE) IT training activities across 4 different networks that encompassed 1,500 network devices, and 250 servers that supported systems throughout the campus. Provided network management and maintenance for CCoE Training Network mission systems; designed, implemented, and maintained the CCoE IT architecture that supported training of over 10,000 students in the Signal, Cyber, and Electronic Warfare Schools.

Designed, implemented, and managed a private on-premise cloud, the Cyber Virtual Training Network (CVTN), based on VMware vCloud to provide an automated virtualized training environment. Mitigated security risks and findings that had previously forced training to commercial links or closed networks. Consolidated networks, equipment, and software purchases, reducing expenditures by over $4 million.

Engineered a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) stack, that was adopted as the proof of concept for 7th Theater Signal Command to provide CSfC services to the entire Army Continental United States theater.

Implemented The TRADOC Student OU Solution transitioning all students from username and password logon to multifactor authentication, bringing the CCoE into compliance with Army Cyber directives.

Engineered and implemented a local virtual route forwarding (VRF) instance at Fort Gordon to segment all training network traffic from the production traffic, requiring inspection of all traffic leaving the training network, greatly enhancing security.

Network Operations Director, Regional Cyber Center U.S. Army 2015 - 2017

Operated, maintained, secured, defended, and provided classified/unclassified network access to over 500,000 users across the Continental United States. Provided problem resolution and assistance for all network devices and services within the theater.

Led the Army Service Migration Team for the Joint Regional Security Stack deployment. Managed a team of remote engineers responsible for conducting site surveys and initial installation of equipment supporting migration of network architecture. Provided coordination, planning, troubleshooting, and expertise during migrations to support the largest network modernization project ever conducted by the Army.

Served as subject matter expert for Network Enterprise Technology Command providing input on implementation of Agency policies, future deployments, and the design of the classified network. Coordinated with Defense Information Systems Agency, Air Force, and other agencies to implement DoD wide policies and procedures.

Managed transition of firewalls at over 100 Network Enterprise Centers across the Continental United States to the Regional Cyber Center for operation and maintenance.

Cisco Fellow U.S. Army 2014 – 2015

Attended the Training with Industry program with Cisco Systems as a member of the Classified Networks Services Team, one of Cisco’s Advanced Service Offerings within the Focused Technical Support portfolio.

Served as Customer Support Engineer providing support to classified government networks providing cleared support to various Department of Defense and Federal Intelligence Agency.

Studied advanced routing and switching topics that include Quality of Service, Multiprotocol, Label Switching, Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network, IPV6, multi-area Open Shortest Path First, Border Gateway Protocol, and advanced route redistribution.

Senior Network Systems Engineer U.S. Army 2012 - 2014

Led the network engineer for organization consisting of over 2,400 personnel and over $400 million in tactical communications systems. Planned, engineered, and integrated tactical networks supporting joint missions, exercises, and contingency communications in support of Homeland Defense.

Planned and coordinated the deployment, operation, cyber defense, and Network Operations (NETOPS) of four subordinate organizations geographically dispersed throughout the United States.

Designed and implemented the Installation as a Docking Station concept allowing the Brigade Headquarters to manage the tactical network remotely from Fort Gordon, GA. Allowed continuous network monitoring of multiple missions without collocating the headquarters to deployed locations.

Authored the NETOPS section of Brigade Standard Operating Procedures document. Implemented process and procedures to streamline Satellite Communications requests for subordinate units.

Recruiting Department Director U.S. Army 2007 - 2009

Commanded the Cincinnati Metro Recruiting Company comprised of eight locations covering over 8,000 square miles throughout Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Planned and executed recruiting missions to enlarge and penetrate market.

Coordinated marketing campaigns to influence target market, to include events with UFC and Cincinnati Reds.

Developed relationships with key influencers throughout communities and schools to increase market share and meet monthly mission.
