Thesis Topic - 3D printed scaffolds for sustained drug release

Worked on the fabrication of Solid lipid Nanoparticles loaded with anti-viral drug Acyclovir.

Studied in vitro drug release kinetics to check effect of Solid Lipid Nanoparticles in sustained release of drug for more than 24hrs in comparison to the conventional oral anti-viral drug treatment.

GelMA hydrogel was prepared in house and used as drug nanoparticle carrier. The effect of chemical and physical properties of hydrogel in drug release such as swelling ratio, degradation rate, compressive strength, inject ability were studied in vitro.

3D printing was done with optimised GelMA bio ink containing drug nanoparticles at different drug concentrations.

Cell culture and designed assays to check cell viability at different drug concentrations. Associate Dentist

Worked in hospital set up as well as Private clinical set up for 3 years as an Associate Dentist. Got hands on experience in various procedures such as cavity fillings, root canal treatments, tooth extraction along with radiological and diagnostic skills for various complex diseases related to head and neck region.

Fabrication of drug nanoparticles using Hot micro-emulsion and ultrasonication technique.

Characterisation of drug nanoparticles for their size, zeta potential, polydispersity index based on Dynamic light scattering technique.

Quantification of drug concentration in in- vitro experiments using UV spectrometer.

Compression strength testing of material using Universal Tensile Testing Machine.

3D printing of polymers and hydrogel-based materials.

Mammalian Cell Culture techniques and assays for detecting cell viability.

Experience in experimental data analysis and interpretation.

Sound knowledge of computer applications e.g MS Office, Power Point, Excel, SPSS.

Excellent communication skills and can work independently as well as in team. Assisted in procurement of experimental material for lab, lab maintenance and safety protocols, updating safety data sheets and training of undergraduate
