Tom graduated from Churchill High School in 1974 and received a full athletic scholarship to The University of Texas at Arlington. After his first year he transferred to Trinity University. In 1977 Tom was a consensus all conference defensive tackle. In 1979 he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction.

In the last two years of college Tom worked as an apprentice with Ray Ellison Industries. After Tom graduated he worked for two years with Ray Ellison and Country Enterprises as a superintendent.

In 1981 Tom went to work for Wood Brothers as the youngest Production Manager in the company. At the time Wood Brothers was the third largest homebuilder and developer in the US. Tom’s responsibilities included overseeing land development and an annual construction volume of $20 million dollars: estimating and bidding procedures; cost control and scheduling and coordination between local municipal and government departments.

In 1984 Tom went to work for Tommy Nance Developments as Vice President in charge of various Commercial and residential projects and land development.

In 1987 Tom went to work for Craig General Contractors in Arlington Texas. While at Craig Tom was on the team that built 28 Pep Boys across the state of Texas including several other retail, an industrial and institutional facility in excess of $60 million a year.

In 1991 Tom joined Andres Construction Services as a superintendent and Project Manager. In the five years of Tom’s employment with Andres he was fortunate to be under the tutelage of Gil and Wade Andres, two icons of the Texas Construction Industry. Several of our projects received national awards. Andres has sense grown into a $750 million dollar a year company and one of the highest regarded contractors in the state.

In 1996 Tom started Capstone Corporation in San Antonio Texas as Vice President and General Manager. During the next 10 years Capstone did commercial, industrial and institutional projects. One of our main clients was DPT Laboratories. In 2006 Capstone was awarded the Best Industrial Lease by the San Antonio Business Journal for DPT Laboratories Brooks City-Base facility. The facility is comprised of a 33000 SF Research and Development building and a state of the art 225,000 SF warehouse that includes Pharmaceutical clean and weigh rooms.

In 2007 Pittman Construction Services was incorporated. Our prime directive is Construction Management and Consulting. We continue to do General Contracting as well. We successfully completed 43,000 SF nursing school for Career Point Colleges as well as several projects for DPT Laboratories.

From March of 2012 to June of 2013 Tom was the Director of Construction for Lewis Energy Group. During that time he had oversight of approximately 35 million in company and personal projects for Rod Lewis.

June of 2014 to May of 2016 I was the project manager for Andres Construction Services for Southtown Flats in San Antonio. A 30 mm dollar project Southtown was a 229 unit apartment complex with a 6 story precast parking garage. We finished almost two months ahead of schedule and under budget.
