Nurse Navigator at Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. I assess malignant hematology and neuro oncology patients for barriers to care. I provide education and resources to assist in overcoming these identified barriers. Meet patients in person and remotely. Provide in person oncology facility and frequently scheduled departments in the hospital tours. Provide emotional support as needed. Assist with some service recovery as needed. Initiate occasional insurance prior authorizations for radiology. Coordinate transfer of records to and from outside facilities. Assist with coordination of care and scheduling. Nurse Coordinator at a Cancer Institute. I organize patient care and treatments, by working with and incorporating all disciplines of the care team. My focus is on hematology/ Oncology patients. ·PACU staff nurse at a surgical center. Recover patients after various surgical procedures. ACLS and BLS certified. I monitored patient’s vital signs. Communicate to the anesthesiologist and surgeon any complications a patient may have after surgery. Administer meds under the orders of the anesthesiologist. I review discharge instructions. I also worked in the pre-op area, preparing patients for surgery. I completed a pre-op assessment. Started IV’s and administer pre-op antibiotics as needed.
