Tutor, Brentwood- Tutor
September 2016 - April 2017
I tutored fellow students from my school in different subjects but mostly in spanish, from this I've learned to: help students in a subject or in subjects, reteach something to the students, review or completely teach something new to them, teach them in a fun creative way so they could grasp the new information or the important information they needed, went as fast as the student wanted to go. I learned to have a lot of patients and stay calm and keep a positive attitude towards them, I created a bond and trust with the student and the parent, challenged students to do their best and reach their highest potential.
A Place of Learning, Brentwood- Volunteer Tutor
September 2013 - June 2015
Here I had a set schedule for every week, had a set schedule with each student I had, taught them the things their parents and teachers believed they need to work on, reviewed things they already knew, communicated to the parents after each session and told them what they still need work on and what we would focus on next time, created a trust and bond with the parent and child, find individual ways for each student to grasp their new infor, i taught some of those kids english for the first time, i talked to them in their native language (spanish) so they could grasp it in a way they knew and understand it in English too, played games for their muscle memory they needed and for new tasks or info they were just taught, helped with all the skills needed for school
Zephyrs Grill and Bar, Brentwood- Hostess/ expo
February 2018- August 2018, March 2019- September 2019
Here I am the first person seen at the door. I greet guests as they come in and as how was their day and create a bond with the guest, I ask if the guest has a reservation or not and I accommodate the guest so they can get a table and our reservation has a table. I’m very familiar with Yelp reservation. Some other duties I had was to make sure the bathroom and menus are clean and make sure our servers are feeling good with their tables. I assign sections and side work to all servers and I have bussed tables when a bussed is on break and I have expod when needed. I love my job here. I love hosting and getting to know my guests and making sure everything is great. I also get along with my coworkers and try and make it a fun place to work.
As an expo I make sure the food looks presentable and is going to the right table and the right Person. I’m also to keep the expo station clean and neat from any food that gets on it. I also check doordash es and Togo’s before they are given to the receiver of the meal. I check that I get every ticket and any subs or extras that go with it. I also stock my station when needed and at the end of the day.
Dave and Busters, Concord - server and bartender
September 2019 - present
As a waitress here it is my job to make sure every table is taken care of the guests and make sure they are feeling great and having a good time. That the guest has everything they need. I am to bring their drinks as they wish and bring out their food and do refills as I see the glass is half empty. Here is the place to have a you got it attitude because our goal is for everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves. I interact with my guests and get to know them as well as take my regulars and get to know them too. We work as a team here as well as we are used to being a big family. I love working with my coworkers and getting to know them everyday some more. I am a bartender here where I care for a bar of 35 seats as well as all server drinks for about 140 tables each seating 4-10 people each as well as our party rooms. My duty here is to make sure every guest gets the best possible care, make sure all liquor is accounted for and to serve guests their drinks safely following all rules from corporate and alcohol safety. I know how to be quick but make sure drinks come out perfect every time. I must clean stock and prep all bar needs before and after my shift. I’m use to working on my own here but I have learned how to perform efficiently with my coworkers as a team like on game days when the whole restaurant is packed and bar.
