Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

Fabrication and Installation Sub-Structures or Plate sections to Assemble following blueprints. Work with Hand and power tools, plumb bobs, levels, wedges, dogs, or turnbuckles.

Inspect and repair fittings, such as safety valves, regulators and auxiliary machines.

Bolt or Weld and parts together, using wrenches and Various Welding Equipment.

Install taps, tubes, valves, gauges, and feed water connections in drums of water tube boilers, using hand tools.

Lay out plate, sheet steel, or other heavy metal, and locate and mark bending and cutting lines, using protractors, compasses, and drawing instruments or templates.

Align, and secure structural parts and related assemblies following blueprints.

Repair or replace parts such as safety valves and regulators, using torches, jacks, power saws, threading dies, welding equipment, and metalworking machinery.

Straighten or reshape bent plates and structure parts, using hammers, jacks, and torches.

Study blueprints to determine locations and dimensions of parts.

Attach rigging, and signal crane or hoist operators to lift heavy frame and plate sections and other parts into place
