Expertise in preventative care, chronic care as well as issues for adult males are included in the position as NP. However, I do work independently based on my previous experience. Collaborate with physicians and staff to provide assessment treatment plans and medication management for all types of substance abuse as well as urgent care treatment and other pre-existing conditions. Handled new male inmates’ medical evaluation and screening for behavioral and psychological disorders in collaboration with physician and psychiatric staff. Performed 15-20 intakes of new inmates daily, identified emergent or chronic illnesses by obtaining history, performing full history, examination, prescribe diagnostics and medications as appropriate. If necessary consulted specialists or stabilized inmate for transport to the ER. Other skills utilized were suturing, stabilizing, casting, adjusting both medical and behavioral/substance abuse medications under the collaboration of the MD.
