Strategic Plan
To continue as a strong leader who will improve the community that I will be serving through enriched citizen services, refined communication with Council and the community, enhanced transparency with a spotlight on downtown revitalization, historic preservation and Economic Development. To use my experience as a manager in municipal government to continue improving the relationship between the local government and the citizens we serve by; Accessing community needs, improving upon the current transparency, working with the elected officials in creating policy and implementing goals to address the needs, and improving citizen services. My experience in municipal budgeting techniques will allow me the opportunity to; Review current financial standards, find new revenue sources and improve existing revenue streams to provide financial success despite the city’s current challenges. The optimal outcome being improving the growth, development, livability and prosperity of the community I serve.
Executive Profile
Multifaceted city government leader for more than fifteen years. Most recently serving the City of Okemah, Oklahoma with a population of 3500. I addressed the need to replace a 45 year old water plant by directing a loan with Oklahoma Water Resource Board for $22 million. Highly motivated City Manager who has located game changing lost utility revenues for both the City of Atoka and The City of Okemah. Awarded more than fifteen million in grant funding which included funding for Municipal Airports, Waste Water, Police, Fire and Water Plant Operations. Public sector professional who demands the highest in ethical standards in government leadership from herself as well as those who work with her. Improved the overall organizations workplace safety requirements including the time during the COVID 19 Pandemic. Educated private sector groups and council appointed commissions on governmental ethics to improve the municipal transparency. Resourceful and self- directed. Customer service educator. Human Resource professional with a full understanding of the laws that govern it. Proficient with Board agenda items including FOI Legislation. Organized interesting, efficient presentations not only to the elected local officials, but to the local business leaders, elected state officials and community organizations. By creating a solid team with all department heads I have maintained a high level of citizen services and performance quality on all municipal projects. Directed capitol improvement projects and has a direct understanding of the sense of urgency with emergency situations for the Citizens and the Municipality. On time reporting with exceptional skills in preparing the annual budget with a tight watch on expenditures has resulted in top grade annual audits. Great success with setting priorities and goals to remain on track with directing long range financial planning. Full knowledge of the Oklahoma and Arkansas Statues, Codes and Ordinances for the successful and safe operations of the Municipalities that I serve. Membership in Municipal Organizations will continue to provide me the training to stay current in proper Municipal procedures and Municipal Law.
