Employment brief of Donald Rose
The Office of Donald Rose
*** – 499 – 0393 Campbell, CA ************@*****.*** Cover Letter
Gentlemen and Ladies:
I am a Senior Construction Project Superintendent. I have 25 years experience as a project superintendent. Other positions I’ve held are Project Estimator, MEP Estimator, Project Manager, Senior Construction Manager. All of which have their own unique requirements and stressors. I do an acceptable job at each of these positions, by that I mean I’ve never blown a bid, or change orders. I’ve kept all subcontractors paid on time and pushed several wagon loads of paperwork through on projects ranging in size from 1 million dollars to a classified Air Force Base For the training of the Pilots and crews for the F-117-A Stealth fighter this project was 3.7 billion Dollars in 1980’s and 90’s dollars. My background is diverse from the Military with projects for DOD and DOE at the Nevada test site, Tonopah test range as well a project for the Army, Tooele Army Depot at the Dugway Proving Grounds in Northern Utah. To high tech with Lockheed Martin space systems, here in Sunnyvale, Agricultural with the Gallo’s throughout the central valley as well as big box retail for Rite Aid and Toys R Us and Costco. I’ve managed the engineering, design and construction of over 250 multifaceted concrete Tank foundations for Gallo Winery and various smaller projects for the Gallo family at the Glass Plant and the Winery as well as Mr. Gallo’s Office at the winery. I served as the senior construction manager for Gordon Prill primarily at Lockheed Martin Space Systems in Sunnyvale but on occasion I was tasked with additional responsibilities such as the construction of the chemical laboratory at Santa Clara University.
Gordon Prill is an AEC company which allows great flexibility in the design, engineering and construction of whatever projects we were tasked with. Which ranged from 8K to 100K clean rooms, Computer server farms, Autoclaves, Areas of over 1,000,000 cubic feet that I was required to dehumidify from an ambient humidity of 40% – 50% to less than 5% we achieved 2.25%. In addition to repurposing existing storage buildings for new office and engineering space for Lockheed’s continually expanding support of the US DOD and space programs.
This was only possible with the required team work of all involved. To include the engineers, special inspectors, suppliers, sub contractors, their superintendents, foremen and staff of all involved. As with all of the complicated projects which my team and myself were tasked with at Lockheed, there was always a great feeling of satisfaction on accomplishing projects on time under budget in the safest manner possible and in excess of our clients’ expectations. 2

I’ve never had a lost time injury on any project that I have managed. Being the Project Superintendent is a position in which I have developed the expertise and experience to be a highly valued team member and asset to the company. I tried being retired from 2010 till now. With the exception of working for Graham Construction off and on in Saginaw Michigan from 2010 through 2018 it became very apparent that retirement and me did not get along well.
And it is ironic and even shocking that the only thing I’ve ever failed at professionally is retirement. There is only so much golf to be played and only so many elk to be killed. I hate to fail at anything but after almost ten years of trying I can honestly say I failed at retirement. Work gives me a purpose, a reason to get up in the morning and as a Project Superintendent it also brings great satisfaction. I understand that there are laws in place, prohibiting certain questions you can ask me. So let me do us both a favor and just press right through the nonsense. Number 1, I’ve got a good 10 years left to whomever employs me. Number 2, I’ve picked up some baggage while I was retired which I will be delighted to review with you when you interview me.
Number 3, I’ve been working with computers since Windows 3.11 back in the mid 90's. If I'm a bit rusty I can get back on track in a very limited time. I just bought a new laptop with the Linux ChromeOS and let me tell you this little guy is a speed demon.
Number 4, I received my journeyman's card from Carpenters Local 1780 in Las Vegas in 1984. 3

The Office of Donald Rose
669 – 499 – 0393 Campbell, CA ************@*****.*** Management Overview
The duties outlined below are required for each level of management in a construction project. This triple redundancy works better than any other method I’ve used to eliminate issues from falling through the cracks. At the same time, it addresses the “gotcha mentality” and replaces it with one of teamwork. It focuses on providing a project that by its very nature is full of stress and ongoing issues. And provides a team mentality to address whatever issues present themselves. Having all involved understand that there are not supervisors but 3 co-equal heads of the project working together as a team is a very productive and profitable management style. 6
