CAREER OBJECTIVES

To pursue a career in a professional organization as a microbiologist, either in a laboratory or a research institute in the area of biochemistry/microbiology as a research assistant or a Laboratory Analyst or as an Assistant in a pharmaceutical company. I have a keen interest to work in the areas of non-harmful micro-organisms and in finding permanent cure for various, difficult to treat, diseases which do not have a proper cure such as eczema, hepatitis.

I can also help in the administrative side of an operating company due to my recent experience in a business organisation in the Middle East.

I am a conscientious and keen worker who gets on well with people and can work either on his own or as a part of team, adaptable to any environment and can contribute positively to organization activities.

BSC FINAL YEAR DISSERTATION

The main focus of my degree in Biological Sciences was in biochemistry and microbiology. My final year dissertation was on the common but non-fatal disease known as acute pancreatitis which occurs when there is obstruction in the pancreatic duct, leading to the activation of digestive enzymes within the large rather than the small intestine, where it should normally happen. These digestive enzymes slowly digest the pancreatic wall resulting in the formation of an ulcer in the pancreas and if untreated might result in the obstruction of the pancreatic duct.

I explored the treatment for this disease to a greater depth and put forward a set of diagnosis together with further treatment strategies in order to lower the fatality rates in the patients. The treatment strategies I put forward were mainly cholecystectomy (removal of gall bladder), surgery to remove ulcer formation in the pancreas, and consumption of less fatty and lipids in the meals

KEY SKILLS

Identifying different proteins present in the cell membranes of the cell and nuclear membrane by using fractional centrifugation techniques at various speeds.

Developing a preferred treatment strategy based on the different types of micro-organisms identified from tissue sample of patients and treatment with antibiotics if the disease proves to be fatal.

Identifying the antigen that reacts with the antibody determinant region or epitope that reacted with the primary antibody by using fluorescently labelled secondary antibody. To this antibody a substrate is added which gives yellow colour when reaction starts and frequency or intensity of colour is detected using ELIA machine 550nm.

Using bio-informatics technique to make artificial neural networks (ANNs) for identification of different biological molecules within a given sample.

Writing formal reports using bio-informatics tools like BLAST, ANNS etc or using various research journals.

Using centrifugation to separate the cell organelles including nucleus, mitochondria, Golgi apparatus, chloroplasts etc. from a given cell sample by using differential centrifugation at different and high speed and pressure.

Using ELISA technique to determine the antibody reaction in MAGE protein via a fluorescent labelled secondary enzyme and gives yellow colour when detected by the ELISA machine.

Using the heat shock process to transfer plasmids from one bacterium to another in which the bacterial cell is firstly heated to very high temperature and then cooled very rapidly with a plasmid vector by process called PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction).

Orientation in Concepts of Biomedical Research and Analysis of Research Papers Techniques by Hamad Medical Corporation-Doha, Qatar: Oct-Nov 2014.

During End of 2014, attended a series of lectures on Concepts of Biomedical and Analysis of Research Paper techniques organized by Hamad Medical Corporation and Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. These lectures were held in the Hajjar Auditorium in the Hamad Medical City. The topics included, statistically evaluating particular hypothesis by using statistical techniques, report writing and evaluating research papers to publish them in the research journals etc. in order to get funding for the research.

I worked part-time in the volunteer department during the Asian Games. On various occasions throughout the year I participated in promotional activities to recruit volunteers for the Asian Games which were held in Dec. 2006. I interacted with people, offered them information and advantages of becoming a volunteer and, taking guidance from DAGOC employees, I demonstrated skills in marketing and communication skills.

Queen Medical Centre Nottingham (UK) 2012 4 Months

I worked as a part-time volunteer at Queens Medical Centre where my main duties included general volunteering in the wards, assisting technicians in hospital laboratory for identification and correct quantity of samples, helping people visiting hospital to locate the correct departments for treatments within the hospital complex and meal-time assistance to visitors.

Masscat Trading and Contracting W.L.L, Doha August 2012 to End November 2014.

While in search for a job in my field and to diversity my experience, I worked with M/S Masscat Trading and Contracting as an Administrative Executive in State of Qatar where I was involved in various functions of the company in the administrative areas. Duties included implementing administrative control procedures for management reporting on daily employee utilizations, resources utilisation and performance evaluation as well as follow up of all formalities for the new employees namely manpower resourcing, approvals for new employment visa, medical and other formalities, etc. In the purchasing department I assisted in preparing procedures for keeping track of all purchases and material use, assisting the management in record keeping and follow up with clients for billing and payments recovery. For some time also worked in the finance department to understand and receive training on accounts preparation and understanding the accounting system.

Transnational Security Services LLC, Dubai August 2016 till Present

Currently I am working at Transnational Security Services LLC, Dubai as Marketing Associate. My Duties includes sending emails to the clients in order to check whether they have any requirements for security guards and also registering the company details on various multi-nationals businesses for making a formal bid for the upcoming projects. I also a partner at this company with 40 % share.
