Medical professional seeking career opportunities outside of the medical field. I am looking to add another set of skills to my knowledge bank. After 20 years as a Surgical Technologist/Surgical Assistant I feel it is time to move on to the next profession. I am currently a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Psychology/Social Work. The ideal job would allow me time to focus on my studies.

Responsibilities included assisting physician during surgical procedure, closing skin incisions, using different methods to control bleeding, maintaining the sterile field, ensuring surgical instruments are in proper working order, attention to detail and problem solving often in intense situations.

Was responsible for care of patient during and after surgical procedures. Maintaining the cleanliness and proper function of the surgical instruments and surgical suite. Ensured all supplies needed were on hand and available for upcoming procedures.
