Keep fair pricing from vendors with bids. Adding and Deleting parts as needed. Order parts for vehicles and apply them on work orders to take out of inventory. Supervises advance-planning activities prior to the ship coming into port.

Checks berth conditions for docking, work areas for safe operation of stevedores and checkers, and that all labor has been assembled for adequate and efficient operations.

Supervises the gangs for vessel loading and unloading, in accordance with the vessel plan; Ensures that each gang is organized, that each person knows what to do and when to do it, so that productivity levels are high.

Ensures that the load and discharge is performed accurately and timely. Coordinates these activities through the ILA ship foremen on the assigned shift. Key focal point for the ship's crew.

Instruct subordinates in safe working practices.

Instructs subordinates in proper, standard operating procedures.

Provides close supervision to subordinate staff, providing regular feedback.
