Projects
Project 2: Red Team vs. Blue Team
●Contributions included an infiltration of a target machine via an attacking virtual machine by brute force attacking user login info, uploading a reverse shell payload, and accessing the target machine remotely.
●Project impact covered the critical need for system hardening to prevent remote attack. The findings of this project can be beneficial to cybersecurity professionals aiming to prevent brute force attacks, unauthorized port scans, restrict user access, and locating reverse shell payloads.
Project 1: Elk Stack Project
●Contributions included the creation of virtual machines, firewalls, and ansible containers to make up a virtual network to monitor and defend. Tasks directed the addition and removal of firewall rules to allow specific traffic through. Filebeat and Metricbeat were used to configure the containers on the host virtual machine to synchronize system updates.
●Project impact covered the demonstration of network administration and the process of traffic filtering. The findings of this project can be beneficial to businesses with growing networks in need of a security administrator to oversee them. Proper understanding of virtual machines and their containers can drastically decrease network security costs.
