Workers’ Compensation Representative II, Risk Management, City of Burbank My primary duties involve managing and monitoring indemnity, future medical, and medical only claims by processing treatment requests & bills, issuing state notices, communicating with claimants & providers, and guiding claimants through the claims processes. Some additional tasks, such as processing accounts payable reports, tracking lost time, and claims setup & reporting have carried over from my previous position. I also help oversee and train new clerks and have been assisting in system upgrades. November 2019 –

Intermediate Clerk, Risk Management, City of Burbank Oversaw front desk for department director, human resources, ADA, environmental health & safety, liability, and workers’ compensation, including answering phones, sorting mail, running memos, ordering supplies, and other tasks as needed. Also, I assisted the workers’ compensation section by following up on work statuses, entering new claims, state reporting, processing payments, recording lost time, file & serves, and filing & record transfers among other tasks.

Library Clerk, Burbank Public Library, City of Burbank At the circulation desk I assisted patrons with borrowing materials, answered questions regarding accounts, entered new library cards, handled payments for fines and TAP cards, and sorted & repaired books. Insurance Education Association Virtual, California I am currently taking a series of workers’ compensation classes which has expanded my knowledge on the rules & regulations of workers’ compensation and the statutes defined in division four of the California Labor Code. Following completion in 2022, I will obtain a designation in Workers’ Compensation Claims Administration through The Institutes. Los Angeles Valley Community College Valley Glen, California Enrolled for degree and general education requirements to obtain an associate of arts before transferring to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration. June 2013 Upper Columbia Academy Spangle, Washington During my attendance, I worked as a library assistant and tutor to earn tuition, participated in choir and volunteer opportunities as part of the H.O.P.E. program.
