EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

LOWE’S 10/2019-present

I am working full-time as a Plumbing associate. The job includes customer service from the home DIYer to the professional plumber, maintaining full shelves

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER, Custom Arcades, Inc. 10/2018 – 9/2019

CA makes classic video cabinets. This had been a one-man company, who wanted to be a company with multiple employees to create more capacity. To accomplish this goal, my task was to create and implement the many systems needed for multiple employees such as employee manual, route sheets: sequence of operations, part numbering, bills of material, written work instructions, set up instructions, shop standards and policy, work flow, plan layout, training grid, preventative maintenance, supply control, tool control, inventory control, job costing, production efficiency, quoting, product design, designing and building automatic machines, tooling design, jigs and fixtures, CNC Programming, design for manufacturability, ERP system, scheduling, work station layout and the list goes on.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER, PRESIDENT, TFG In-Store Display, LLC 11/2012 – 5/2018

TFG manufactures retail display items for the floor covering market. Managed a company of 9-30 people. Created many foundational systems that were non-existent. Solved many day-to-day problems, always aiming toward the improvement of systems with which to define and run the company. These all enhanced the success of production projects and equipment projects.

Project: Initiated foundational systems: quality control, part and process numbering, labeling of material, machine layout, process improvement, capital justifications, etc.

Project: Created a bilingual Work Order system (including routers) to give the line employees the total information they needed to perform their work, leaving more time for the Shop Superintendent to do other functions, like production scheduling.

Increased the accuracy of quoting models by defining more precise routing and process information, including production time studies.

Lead many improvement projects such as:

Designed and implemented an SOP system to document processes and procedures, resulting in standardization and consistency of product and process.

Project: All sales were made-to-order which required many of them to involve tooling, fixtures and routings. Designed, with full specifications, fixtures, equipment and tooling resulting in production requirements being met and customers being satisfied.

Project: Researched, purchased and installed a semi-automatic saw, reducing labor costs 92% and expanding capacity 300% with an 11-month ROI.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER PRESIDENT, Delta t Limited 09/1999 – 05/2012

Responsible for general management of the company with an Industrial Engineering emphasis.

Project: Selected, installed and trained a company ERP system.

Project: Implemented ISO 9001 in most of the company processes as the foundation of our quality initiative.

Graduated from Crosby Quality School and incorporated this system into the company, changing its quality process from “operator makes parts and quality sorts out the bad one” to where each operator was responsible for their own quality, eliminating the need for non-value-added sorting. Control was through First Article and periodic inspection.

SALES/PROJECT ENGINEER, Delta t Limited 11/1997 – 09/1999

Delta t Limited designs and manufactures a convoluted (twisted) enhanced heat exchange metal tube. All sales were made to order, creating a project with each order. Made parts for the aviation and medical device markets, working with the specifications thereof. Responsible for many projects of designing and building many custom machines. We served many industries including medial, aircraft, food, plumbing and others. I regularly used ASME, FAA, CS/CSA, API and ASTM standards.

Process: Engaged prospects, gathered information, designed product, produced quotes, closed sales and delivered on time.

Project: Researched and lead implementation, installation, conversion, start up and training of an ERP system, (DBA Manufacturing, re-released as EVO) resulting in all stakeholders having access to available information and adding structure to the information flow.

Discovered additional industries through targeted listing and advertising, increasing gross sales from $1MM to $2MM in 3 years.

Created a production schedule to ensure timely arrival of raw material and shipment of finished parts, assuring on-time shipment of orders.

Project: Conceived, designed and built several manual and fully automatic custom machines (pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, PLC controlled) producing parts that met all quality and safety requirements with minimal labor and maximum consistency. Did the PLC programming. Ninety two percent of our machines were designed and built in-house.

Project: Design a system to write, maintain, train and store all our process/procedures for ISO9000.

ERP PROJECT MANAGER, TK International 09/1985-11/1987

TK International repaired and made new parts for jet engines for commercial aircraft. The company was designing and programming an in-house ERP system. When I joined the company, the financial portion had been completed and they were ready to start on the manufacturing areas. I understood manufacturing and I understood computer system’s design, my task was to define the needs of the manufacturing software and give it to the programmers. This included files, with their specific contents, each input screen, each report needed and all the transactions that manufacturing would need to use in their daily work.

Additional Engineering experience at Braden Winch (Industrial Engineer), Tube Fab (Production Manager) and Whirlpool Corp. (Summer Industrial Engineer Intern).
