As a certified surgical technologist, I gained experience in various Atlanta hospitals from 1990-2000, gaining a position on the operating room trauma team allowed me to accrue experience in general and specialty procedures. My medical skills allowed me to collaborate with perioperative staff to maintain a safe and sterile environment while following the regulations and professional standards of the hospital. Proven ability to create precise documentation per hospital policy including but not limited to pre-op, intra-op, and post-op documentation. Assisting and circulating the operating room suite include: GYN; C-section, abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, posterior repair, tubaligation, laparotomy inquinal, and imbilical hernia repair. Plastic; lateral and bi-lateral mastectomies, and breast biopsies. Orthopedic; BKA/AKA, rotary repair cuff, bunionectomy with k-wire and screws implant, and trauma. Cardiovascular; carotid, abdominal aneurysms, and pacemaker implants. Critical experience with an aseptic techniques, sterilization, decontamination, autoclaving, and recommended standardized instrument assembly in an accurate and timely manner. Ordering surgical supplies, monitor case-cart, testing defibulaor is extremely utmost importance in the operating room. Professional skills in collaborating with the perioperative staff in providing strong communications with the staff, and continuous documentation throughout the day of work flow.
