During my apprentership period I worked as an apprentice deck Electrician on the USS George Washington (CVN 73), USS Enterprise (CVN 65), USS John C Stennis (CVN 74). Worked on many systems ranging from aircraft starter stations, pump rooms, O2N2 Plant, avionic shops, and flight deck lighting on CVN’S 73 and 65 where I learned basic electrical theory for marine/shipboard applications.

Daily work delegation, Crew supervision and training, install assemble electrical networks (transformer, power panels, lighting panels, fiber optic interface network) 28V AC & DC, 110V, 220V, 440V. Hooked up internal communication systems.

Lead Mechanic primarily responsible for the installation of Primary Flight Control (Air Traffic Control), or known by navy personnel as “The Tower”. Planned and coordinated the installation of all power distribution, I.C., Radio/Radar and miscellaneous lighting systems on CVN’s 68, 69, 74, 75, 76, and 70. Hooked up/wire checked and supported department E31, E35, and E67 in testing of all systems dealing with aircraft launch and recovery for flight deck certification. Assisted with testing all detail topside lighting systems used for navigation and referencing and numerous radio/ I.C.

Lead Support Mechanic for the install of Pilot House where ships navigating and piloting are done to many other miscellaneous radar and antennae systems involved in the Main-Mast Reconfiguration on CVN’S 68, 69, 70, 74, 75, 76.
