I worked in the Dementia/Alzheimer’s unit of the nursing home tending to residents and providing comfort. As an activity manager, I engaged the residents with entertainment such as from reading to the residents to displaying a show they would like. In addition, I made sure the residents were busy, alert, and astir by reading to them, reciting alphabets, and playing memory aiding music.

JUNE 22, 2016 – AUGUST 11, 2016

ASSITANT/INTERN, Providence Hopspital

I was responsible for transporting medical equipment to the Respiratory Ward. I answered calls, organized papers, and shadowed doctors in the Nursing center at In and Out Surgery. Also, I guided people to various designations at the front desk of Providence Hospital.

INTERN, CHILDRENS NATIONAL HOSPITAL DC

I will be required to attend the weekly education series currently offered to high school and college students working in the Children's National CRI. Weekly field trips to institutions critical to biomedical research and uniquely situated in the DC area, such as NIH Clinical Center, FDA, meeting with Congressional leaders, ETC., that will be scheduled throughout the duration of the program. Participants will also be able to attend other CTSI-CN activities, such as a Community Advisory Board meeting, departmental/division Grand Rounds, and other lectures of interest.
