Biography

Raimundo Rubio was born in Santiago, Chile. He begin to paint at early

age and took private art classes until he was 18 year old. He moved in

1979 to Washington, DC. He spent five years in Barcelona, Spain. Since

1999, he has lived and worked in Brooklyn, New York. He has had 10

solo exhibits, and many group shows and reviews in Washington, DC;

Santiago, Chile; Barcelona, Spain; and New York City. Rubio participated

in El Museo’s Biennial, The (S) Files 2002, El Museo del Barrio NY;

Earthly and Spiritual Pleasures, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington DC,

2004; and Surface Tension, Chelsea Museum of Art, NY, 2004; and No

Longer Empty, 2009 and 2010, New York. He had solo exhibits at

“Museo National de Bellas Artes,” (National Museum of Fine Art)

Santiago, Chile 2017.
