Works with a team of 3 other Physician Assistants and 3 Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeons.
My duties include rounding and collaborating with the Attending Surgeons to provide care for our patients located in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and the step down unit. This includes taking a history, physical exam, development and implementation of treatment plans, interpretation of laboratory tests and diagnostic studies, and removal of chest tubes or balloon pumps.
My main duty is to first assist in the operating room on a variety of Cardiothoracic surgeries, including but not limited to CABG, valve repair/replacement, ascending aorta replacement, and lobectomy.
Perform Endoscopic Vein Harvesting and leg incision/closure independently.
I also often spend one day per week in our clinic evaluating post-operative patients independently.
Complete appropriate documentation of all evaluations, care, and services rendered in the medical record.

Primary care provider in a fast-paced family practice that has a strong focus on disease states of the endocrine system as well. Involved in all aspects of patient care across the lifespan, including; detailed history, physical examinations, development and implementation of treatment plans, prescription medications, ordering and interpretation of laboratory tests and diagnostic studies, as well as in-office procedures.
During these three years, I worked independently as the sole Physician Assistant every Wednesday and over holidays, while the supervising Physician is not in office.
Procedures I routinely perform in office include trigger point injections, knee joint injections, shoulder injections, tendon sheath injections, wound closure with sutures, toenail removal with digital block, punch biopsy.
