WORK EXPERIENCE

Stone Marine Services Namibia PTY Ltd Feb 2019 — April 2022 Service Coordinator/Service Support/Buyer

I was retrenched from Global Marine Services since the company closed down and moved to South Africa. I was offered the position for Service Coordinator at Stone Marine Services again. This means I have very similar duties as before regarding the ISO 9001 quality system, with the exception that I now focus strictly on machining and propulsion jobs. I process enquiries and orders for machining and propulsion jobs, and ensure all quality documents are up to date. I am also in charge of building, plant, vehicle, alarm, equipment maintenance and the store room. My Cedervall training also allows me to attend service jobs as a service engineer now and then. Unfortunately, the company suffered throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and they could no longer afford to keep me. My position became redundant and I was retrenched.

Global Marine Services PTY Ltd Oct 2017 — December 2018 Service Manager

After being retrenched, we opened our own company in the Marine Industry. I was Service Manager in charge of all the service jobs and spares. This included arranging flights, transport and accommodation for our engineers. I dealt with the customers regarding the service schedule, the spare parts required, or any issues that might arise. Also being an authorized signatory, I arranged payments, invoices, purchase orders, quotations etc. With my technical background and experience I was also a part-time service technician. Caterpillar Propulsion PTY Ltd June 2012 — September 2017 Service Coordinator

As the Service Coordinator for Caterpillar Propulsion (formerly known as Berg Propulsion AB), I was in charge of arranging and coordinating all the service jobs for the whole of Africa, arranging flights, transport and accommodation for the engineers traveling to the vessels for repairs and service. Being a small service center with few employees, I was also in charge of admin and accounts. I was an authorized signatory making payments to suppliers and arranging salaries. With my technical background and experience I was also a part-time service technician. Stone Marine Services June 2010 — June 2012

Service and Spares Coordinator

I was approached by Stone Marine Services who were the agents for Cedervall whom I worked for as a Service Engineer.

I started as the Service and Spare parts Coordinator, and later moved to spares, procurement and logistics Coordinator. This gave me a variety of chores and responsibility. This was my first position as service coordinator, and I got proper training at the main branch in Scotland. I was in charge of arranging and coordinating the service jobs and the spare parts. We had an ISO 9001 quality system to uphold, and I was in charge of assuring that the audits go well and the quality system is maintained properly.

We were also running a workshop, so when I was moved to Spares and Procurement, I was responsible for maintaining/ordering the spares and consumables in the workshop and store room. I was trained on Quickbooks and I was required to maintain and order the stock as required. With my technical background and experience I was also a part-time service technician. Cedervall España S.A. September 2007 — May 2010

Service Engineer

Cedervall in Spain manufactured Marine shafts, seals and bearings among a few other products for Marine Propulsion Engineering. I was employed as a Service Engineer for shaft seals and bearings. I was well trained in Sweden at the main branch and got my qualification as Cedervall Certified Engineer. I would travel alone up to 180 days in a year to anywhere in the world where a vessel needed repairs or installations, but I mainly travelled in Europe. I would attend the vessels and repair the products, either by installing new spares provided, or by supervising the machining of the old parts to specification. When I was not traveling, I was based in the workshop where I repaired and manufactured the parts required by customers.

Essie & Associates June 2006 — January 2007

Accounting Processor

I was employed as a processor for the accounting firm Essie & Associates. I was trained to use the Pastel Accounting program. Pridamach (UK - Europe) Seasonal 2003, 2004, 2007 — European summers only Silo Builder/Construction worker

I was a silo builder for the English company called Pridamach. This was seasonal work and I only worked during the European summers. See dates below.

I was part of an international team that travelled over Germany and built grain silos. We would stay in hotels, guesthouses and B&B's and work 7 days a week to build the silos where required. Our company's advantage over the competition was speed and efficiency. We were trained and motivated to build the silos as quickly as possible with as little workers as possible, ranging from 6 to 10 workers per team.
