Serving as Advocate Supervisor/Recruiting and Training Coordinator at NCK CASA and Hope’s Place Child Advocacy Center, a non-profit agency serving the 12th Judicial District in Kansas. Served as Executive Director of CASA of the 17th Judicial District, Inc., a non-profit agency serving the 17th Judicial District in Kansas. CASA consists of court appointed advocates for abused and neglected children in the court system. Upon taking the position at the request of the Kansas CASA Association, I was able to successfully re-certify the program to a good standing membership with Kansas CASA Association, National CASA Association and Kansas Office of Judicial Administration. We have since built the program from 3 Board of Director members and 2 CASA Volunteers to 9 Directors and 13 Volunteers. We have also worked extremely hard to regain a positive relationship with the Judges, County Attorneys, DCF, and St. Francis Ministries. My duties include daily overall program management, thorough recruitment, screening and hiring of Volunteer Advocates, all pre-service and in-service training, supervision of all Volunteers and case management, overseeing the budget, daily entry and operation of Quickbooks, CASA Manager data entry, public relations, fundraising and marketing, management of Kansas Office of Judicial Administration standards compliance, National CASA Association standards compliance, Kansas CASA Association compliance, and working with a Board of Directors. I have also established a “Results and Outcomes” plan to track both short and long-term success of our casework. Served as Recovery Specialist at Westside Alternative school. Worked with children in a school setting to help them achieve case plan goals and reintegrate into their regular school settings. Worked closely with therapists, case managers, and families to help the children achieve their goals. I facilitated daily psychosocial sessions as well as individual sessions with each child on my caseload. I also served as Westside Alternative School Recovery Specialist Supervisor from 2008-2009, which included informal supervision of Recovery Specialists and Recovery Workers in the Elementary classroom. I also served as the Community Policing Officer, which included numerous community outreach events and public speaking engagements. I left this position to accept a position at High Plains Mental Health Center/ Westside Alternative School, still residing in the same community.
