Assisted a History PhD student in translation of essays on the history of psychiatry from French to English.
French Department Thesis on Magical Realism
I started research on a thesis about Magical Realism in francophone literature with Alain Mabanckou, but was not able to complete it owing to health issues related to the pandemic and the switch to online learning.

February 2022-Present
Work as an after-school enrichment teacher in subjects like Yoga, Clay Art, and Fashion in LAUSD elementary schools. Teach basic yoga and art classes as well as dance occasionally to students aged 5 to 11.
Cost Plus World Market
July 2021-Present
Sales Associate at Cost Plus World Market. Cashier and customer service representative. Assist customers with information and help with acquiring and transporting products. Have thorough knowledge of online and in-store inventories and be confident assisting over the phone as well.
TAPIF (Teaching Assistant Program in France)
October 2020-March 2021
Helped teach English at a middle school in Melun, Île-de-France, France (south of Paris) for 5 months during the COVID19 pandemic. Presented to and taught whole classes. Taught special needs classes and helped students, who were not fluent in French, let alone English. Also worked with individual students and small groups. Both school and my location of residence were in some of the poorest and most unsafe parts of the region.

At Massage Envy I was both a Sales Associate and Receptionist. Be friendly and helpful, while multitasking phone and in-store service. Booking requires proficiency in the online software. It was my job to sell memberships, gift certificates, and other products to the guests.
UCLA Library Special Collections, Student Assistant

Attendant in the reading room (entails monitoring patrons as they study rare and fragile books and collections, retrieving materials for patrons, and assisting patrons in various other capacities), handling and assisting in the care of rare books, paging and re-shelving books for patrons and staff, photocopying materials for patrons, and participating in other tasks and special projects. Being welcoming and accommodating, while also prioritizing care of the collections. Collaboration with other staff on projects and tasks.
UCHA Undergraduate Cooperative Housing Association March 2019-April 2020
Kitchen and Office Worker for 4 quarters in the Co-op. In the kitchen I helped prepare meals, wash small and large dishes, clean the dining area and kitchen. As an office worker, I was the first face to greet many newcomers. I had to be deeply knowledgeable about the innerworkings of the Co-op in order to give out sound information and help run such a complicated organization of 430+ members. Had to be able to juggle several tasks at once and still maintain detail and accuracy: phone calls, processing payments, documenting payments in the checkbook, filing, checking in and out members, answering questions, and offering any other assistance to members or the director of the Co-op.

Intern in the Science Department of the Consulate General of France in Los Angeles

Assisting in the organization of the conferences held by the Science department of the French Consulate, including a franco-american conference on the human microbiome in March at the California Nano-systems Institute at UCLA. Learned bookkeeping, DonorPerfect, and how to manage and organize an office, while learning about the conflicts in the middle east. I was able to contact donors to the organization and write articles for the newsletters. Also attended roundtable with one of Brad Sherman’s assistants, as well as peace rallies.

Led Creative Writing class in public middle school in Watts serving primarily underprivileged students for two quarters. Invented and taught activities to the whole class. Advised individual students on how to approach writing, to access their creativity, and how to be clearer in their expression.

At my high school, in each class of Juniors, 5 students were chosen by the English department to tutor the school in academic essay writing. I was selected and really enjoyed the opportunity of working individually with students to empower them to be more confident and persuasive writers.

Worked on digital and print publications, learned a lot about the design side of publications.
