Summary:
Strategic program leader with global expertise in industrial setup and engineering/product development services for automotive industry. Demonstrated planning and resource allocation proficiency to include manpower, financial, time and implementation, quality control, and procurement/vendor development. Successfully developed and executed monitoring and control programs spanning, risk and scope management, to inventory and cost control. Well versed in automotive industry virtual structural performance validation, mass, manufacturing process, and cost optimization.
Professional Experience
• Aligning resources to meet core business objectives, by
o Analyzing internal and external expectations and identifying gaps to full fill, in most effective and efficient ways possible.
o Control program budget/ finances, by keeping close watch on scope creep and minimize resources consumption by having balance between internal and external expectations
• Co-ordination between engineering, operations, and finance departments to achieve common corporate goals. And worked with OE’s manufacturing team in building & field-testing prototypes.
• Developed an innovative ultra-light passenger car door design concept to compete with current aluminum door in production using high strength steels.
• Developed low cost lightweight structural design concepts for different vehicles through virtual validation process with in the estimated budget and time.
• Developed/worked on various suspension systems for passenger cars, light duty trucks, off road vehicles [Combat Vehicles – ITAR] and golf carts.
• Developed virtual manufacturing process to reduce scrap, cost and to improve productivity for original automotive manufacturers, closely working with OE’s manufacturing teams.
• Successfully planned and executed 4 Greenfield projects (COLD ROLLING MILL COMPLEXES).
Automotive Experience: 20 years [1999 to 2017 Engineering Technology Associates, ETA; 2018-2019 Tower Automotive] Vehicle engineering and development activities for passenger cars, light duty trucks, school buses, offroad and army combat vehicles. Primary focus on body structures, chassis, and suspension.
Product design and development through virtual validation and design refinements for optimal performance of different vehicle attributes like, strength, stiffness, noise-vibration, ride-comfort, energy absorption, packaging – maximizing utilization space and cost reduction.
Programs for: Ford, Chrysler, Nissan, Hyundai, Haima, Tacom, AIK, Porche, AM General, Braun, Navistar, Blue Bird, Thomas Built, VSE, Ricardo, Club Car, US Steel.
1.Lead conversion: Defining scope, resources estimation, negotiating with customers for scope and cost. Assembling the team and overseeing the entire program activities throughout till prototype builds, field testing and handover the product designs for manufacturing.
2.Program management: Assembling the team, coaching, mentoring, overseeing, and troubleshooting the various aspects of business like, technical, timelines, budget, and quality throughout the programs to meet customer expectation both internal and external.
3.Product development:
-Successfully developed a wheelchair access minivan program with most spacious vehicle in the market, 10 inches additional interior space, market’s widest ramp and most spacious doorway
-Developed an Ultra-Light Tactical Vehicle (ULTV) with fully independent suspension; 9 inches of suspension travel; 12 inches of ground clearance, and a payload capacity of 2,700 pounds
-Developed a virtual tool for controlling in process manufacturing defects for closure assemblies
-Developed a new integrated steel door concept
Heavy Industry Experience: 10 years [1985 to 1996 in India, 1996 to 1999 Indonesia] Project planning, implementation of ferrous and non-ferrous flat products production plants and transition them into full scale production plants.
-Plant layout refinements, equipment selection, optimization, and equipment design changes to improve overall efficiency, durability, and safety
-Overseen team of engineers and contractors during implementation of various multimillion dollar projects to meet time and cost expectation and day to day operations and problem solving.
-Engineering support for plant operations and maximizing plant utilization and plant maintenance cost reduction
