My name is Samuel R. Pontacoloni I’m looking for a part time position to use basic skills to help contribute to daily operations. I will be looking to continue a higher level of education. I’ve been working in the construction trade for the past twenty years and have reached my limit of progress with the level of education acquired.

My overall work status throughout my past twenty years of experience was started right out of high school I had gotten right into the work force. Starting with the basics of lawn care in landscaping. Was hired by a local landscaping company, assigned to assist in helping with operations. If the team were pruning I was responsible for making sure they had the proper tools. Also keeping a clean work area while being trained to understand the task at hand.

As I had continued to be trained to understand the landscaping trade I was assigned to hold and maintain a more advanced position. Which had placed me onto the lawn maintenance crew. The lawn maintenance crew was responsible for maintaining a weekly lawn maintenance customer-based service. For loading and securing equipment onto truck and trailers. Effectively use equipment while working on a customer’s property. As time progressed and advancements continued I had become a regular part of the team.

When another opportunity had presented itself through a competing landscaping company I was offered a position to run my own weekly lawn maintenance service. I had continued that position for the following two years and had proven to my superiors successful. From the lawn maintenance position was offered to stay onsite to begin to oversee the beginning stages of a turf installation crew. Starting at just the basics. a couple thousand square feet of turf to repair or complete a homeowner’s property. To overseeing large scale projects of up to a couple hundred thousand square feet of turf based on golf course renovation or completion. Responsibilities included receiving and organizing product. Controlling and maintaining a timely schedule for a team up to six. To measure and order the proper materials for the following day or project. And to maintain a well-organized timely worksite.

Owned my own landscaping company. Lawn maintenance plantings and landscape design. Operated and ran my own projects doubled production in two years. Sold company priced same as purchase price. Continued my career in landscaping construction for two more years then decided to continue my construction experience in the electrical construction industry.

Went to electrical school for one year to earn an electrical certificate. Was hired through the program that the school had provided and was hired within a few months of completion. Was hired by a small residential commercial electrical company. Starting an electrical apprenticeship. Maintaining the responsibility of organizing the trucks moving material and keeping a clean and orderly work area. While continuing my electrical training utilizing theory learned during classroom hours to put to practical use. Learned the basic use of practical wiring and construction related to the electrical trade. Pull wire install outlets and switches. Learn the proper way to measure and install overhead lighting.

Looking for more opportunity. Stepped aside continued back in the landscaping trade to pursue a larger scaled electrical company. After a short time of searching found an electrical company more dedicated to larger scaled commercial electrical projects. Was hired on as an electrical apprentice. And had started in the same progression as completion of school. Responsibilities included to keep a clean and tidy work area for the licensed electricians. To receive and distribute material to their proper locations. While continuing my electrical training. My training and advancements continued to excel as an electrical apprentice throughout three years to a more hands on interactive employee. Continued to keep a clean and orderly work area. Continued to receive and organize material. Continued to distribute material to certain work areas as well as covering areas throughout the entire jobsite. Learned the basics and some advanced levels of blueprint readings. Utilizing the capabilities of advanced blueprint readings to scale out practical use. Maintained a high level of control to stay onsite to finish and close out large-scale projects.

Continued my electrical training to five years. Not having the education to progress into a more advance position. Decided to move back into the landscaping trade to continue to work for myself.

Now reaching a position of further opportunity to allow myself to continue a higher level of education. I have stepped back from the construction industry to seek out a part time position to allow myself more space and time to advance into the future.
