June 1997 to Present The Boeing Commercial Aircraft Company

Seattle, Washington

From 1997 to 2000 I worked for the 737 aircraft division in the delivery and certification department. My first task was to manage and coordinate certification with the Russian Aviation authorities. Once successfully completed, a delivery of the first 737 next generation aircraft to the operator was successful. I worked with the airline customers and the FAA to assist in the certification of the interior components such seats, galleys and entertainment systems to insure all the regulations for safety were complied with the FAA.

In 2001 I went to work for a new division, Boeing Aviation and Modification Company, as the Manager for FAA certification and coordination to provide project and program management of modification of new interior configurations for major airlines. One of my jobs was to coordinate the modification of 8 South African Airways 747-400 with new First Class seating, new Business Class seating as well modifying the Galleys with new equipment. This required me to coordinate all the modifications in Dublin Ireland with the mod center and to meet with the various manufactures to approve the testing and certification of the products prior to shipping to Dublin for installation into the aircraft. I worked closely with the South African Aviation Authorities to insure their regulatory requirements were for meet of operations of the aircraft.

My duties required coordination with various foreign regulatory agencies to insure the airline met their requirements as well as the FAA for service entry.

In 2004 I went to work for the Derivative Aircraft division where I received a Secret Clearance to work on US Airforce corporate aircraft. We reviewed modifications to Air Force One and insured the changes met all the FAA requirements as well as the Air Force regulations. These aircraft were configured with various corporate interiors and special communications equipment.

February 1990 to June 1997 Newport Aeronautical Inc.

Laguna Beach, Ca

My duties with Newport was as a Sr. Design Engineer and Project Manager for aircraft interior modifications.

I worked with a major airline to assist in purchase the of a used DC-10-30 series aircraft and coordinated the input to the modification facility in Orlando, Fl.

During this time, I managed the modification and overhaul of the aircraft, assisted in the purchase of new interior components, and insured all work completed was to the FAA certification requirements.

August 1985 to February 1990 Associated Aircraft Modification center

Long Beach, Ca

During my time with Associated I trained with the local FAA office in Long Beach to earn my DER license for Interior component certification. As a DER you are required to review all testing and certifications of interior components to complete the approvals on behalf of the FAA.

The modification center modified various corporate aircraft for businesses and private customers.

My duties were to find compliance to the FAA regulation and approval to submit to the FAA for STC certification.

I also designed interior layouts and configurations, water/waste systems and avionics layouts.

April 1965 to August 1985 Douglas Aircraft Company

Long Beach, Ca

After graduating from Cerritos College with an AA Degree in Mechanical Engineering, I went to work for Douglas Aircraft as a draftsman for the aircraft interior group. I assisted in the design of the interior ceiling panels and sidewalls of the DC-8 and DC-10 aircraft.

In September 1970, I was promoted to a Liaison Engineer working on the final assembly of the interiors into the aircraft and resolving manufacturing issues for the installation.

This required me to coordinate with the design engineers and to provide detailed instruction the shop floor so modifications could be completed.
