Provided general supervision for the clinic, ensuring the daily running of the facility goes smoothly, ensuring stocks to provide services are present and money earned is correct and goes to the accounting department. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays services provided are as follows: Counselling, HIV/STI testings, Breast Examination, PapSmears, Introduce and Administer the different Family Planning Methods. On Tuesdays and Thurdays: well baby and mother checks and administer vaccines.

• Conduct abdominal and vaginal examination.

• Educate and counsel clients on sexual and reproductive health issues.

• Educate on HIV and other STI’s.

• Assess, diagnose and monitor HIV/STI positive clients for any deviation and potential problems and report promptly.

• Administer and monitor birth controls.

• Administer medication during pregnancy, labor and postpartum.

• Provide coaching and emotional support to clients.

• Conduct pap-smears, explain results and refer when necessary.

• Perform diagnostic tests and procedures and analyze, interpret and report findings.

• Provide family planning and counseling services.

• Perform breast examinations.

• Ensure safe usage and maintenance of equipment.

• Advocate and liaise with other professionals in the multidisciplinary team.

• Participate in resuscitative procedures of adults and infants.

Worked for one month at the female medical ward, which is a 44 bedded unit caring for patients with all conditions. Worked one month at the female medical ward, which is a 31 bedded unit. Worked for a week at the pediatric ward, which is a 44 bedded unit. Worked six months on the male surgical ward with a bed capacity of 44, caring for clients with various surgical and medical illnesses, and eight months at the male medical ward which is a 41 bedded unit. Throughout the entire hospital experience, been providing care to patient of all ages with various medical, surgical, psychiatric, obstetrical, gynecological, pediatric and ear, nose and throat illnesses/emergencies. I am presently at the female surgical unit for one year and ten month, where I am one of the Nurse Manager since November 2017.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interact and Interview patient for admission.

• Performs and assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

• Preforms venipuncture and canulation.

• Performs tracheostomy care.

• Administers medication via different routes.

• Performs suctioning.

• Performs catheterization.

• Monitor and record fluid balance.

• Assist in intubation, chest tube insertion and skin traction.

• Regulation and computation of medication and intravenous fluids.

• Administration and monitoring of oxygen.

• Monitoring cardiac activity utilizing cardiac monitor and electrocardiogram.

• Monitor, record and report vital signs, blood glucose and oxygen concentration.

• Carry out and assist in sterile procedures eg, wound care.

• Maintain traction (orthopedic patients).

• Prepare sterile and medical equipment for clinical procedures.

• Perform nasogastric tube insertion.

• Ensure correct storage and administration of drugs.

• Maintaining confidentially and privacy of patients.

• Monitor patients on chemotherapy and radiotherapy medication.

• Doing patient care plan and continuously evaluating care.

• Meeting patients and family emotional, psychosocial, physical and spiritual needs.

• Carry out infant feeding.

• Monitor chest tube and under water sealed drainage.

• Manage basic life support needs and stabilized patient based on nursing standards.

• Prepare patients emotionally, psychologically and physically for various investigations such as xray, ultrasound, CT scan, MRI, surgical procedures etc.

• Receive and handover dangerous drugs according to protocol.
