Carrying out services and maintenance on vehicles of various types as per schedule.
Training of apprentices and workshop assistants and monitoring their progress on both the practical and theoretical aspect of their training programmes.
Attending Artisans’ Meetings in the mornings to discuss priorities for the day and any problems that other artisans confront on their daily tasks.
Attending to call-outs and breakdowns at various mines and power stations. I am therefore very familiar with the safety requirements at these places.
Achievements:
I have been awarded “Worker of the Month” three times at Power Motor Clinic.
I managed to assemble a Bell Service Truck that BELL Equipment (the dealer company) refused to assemble because it was over stripped at a mine.
I was appointed to receive training on a dynamometer testing and Unichip Engine Tuning technology at NASTEX, Pretoria.
While at Power Motor Clinic, l have worked on Nissan and Toyota forklifts, front-end loaders – Liebherr, CAT, Kawasaki and BELL (H-frames, bushes and pins, brakes, engine services and transmissions, as well as Ford Ranger cylinder heads and engine repairs.
I have also worked extensively on Toyota Hilux D-4D, 2.7VVTi, Nissan NP300, Volvo, FH16, FJ10, Nissan Diesel, CW range, Mercedes Benz, Actross 3344 engine services and clutch replacements, ATEGO 1617 as well as AXOR models amongst many other models.

Ensuring that the workshop is a clean and safe environment for both the employees and clients.
Liaising with clients and ensuring they receive the highest quality service that we could offer.
While at Auto Agency, I gained extensive experience on the following: Landcruiser 4.2 and 4.5, gearbox and transfer box overhauls, engine repairs, Landrover Defender 110 and ISUZU models.
Ensuring that vehicles tendered for and won are worked on within the agreed time frame.
Achievements:
Rebuilt a Landrover V8 110 Defender from chassis to completion

Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out vehicle repairs and maintenance services on Nissan Diesel CW447T, ADE366N, Scnia93H, Toyota 2D, Landrover TD, Honda Ballade, Isuzu KB range, Mazda 3400 V6, Nissan E13, E15, SD23 amongst other vehicles.
Did cylinder head overheads for BMW316, Mercedes Benz E230, VN Polo, Nissan Sentra, Hilux, Mazda and many other models.
Achievements:
Transformed a Toyota Corolla 1C Diesel engine with automatic transmission to a 5A-FE fuel injected motor manual transmission, which involved changing the entire wiring, fuel and exhaust systems, modifying engine and gearbox mounting brackets and clutch hydraulic systems. The Project was a success.

I have worked on engine, transmission and suspension for the following models: Mazda B series, Nissan Sentra, Toyota Corolla, Cressida, Hilux 2Y, 3Y, 4Y, Mercedes1617, Nissan Diesel CP B12, CK10, CK20, ADE366N, Scania82H, 113E, Bedford TL13-16, Ford 5000, tractor.
Achievements:
Fixed brakes for a Mazda T3500 truck during third year apprenticeship, after qualified mechanics gave up, saving the workshop a lot of money.
Rebuilt a Bedford TL13-16 from bare chassis to completion during my third year of apprenticeship.
Built chassis stands for use on heavy truck suspension repairs
Designed and fabricated a valve spring compressor for the workshop that proved to be a lot easier to operate than the G-type compressor.
Designed a steel cart for disposing old oil and diesel metal filters
Managed to single handedly loosen an extremely tight front crankshaft pulley bolt on a Nissan Diesel engine which gained me the nick name “Ten Hands”

Inspecting and reporting on mechanical malfunctions, chassis and body defects on all light vehicles, trucks and trailers in the company fleet.
