I wrote, edited and marketed a four page two-color newsletter for dentists. The letter was personalized to their office news with three pages of generic dental information. The newsletter was used for public relations and marketing. I had 150 clients across the country. I closed the company but sold the copyright to the publication when I moved to Huntsville, AL for my husband’s job.
1995-2012
Educator – Huntsville, AL
I taught second, fourth and fifth grade before becoming a middle school science teacher. I participated in science Olympiad, a national competition for middle school students. We placed first in regional competition and in the top three in state competition. 2013-Present
Principal – Sacred Heart Cathedral School, Pensacola, FL I have served as a servant leader at Sacred Heart Cathedral School for the past nine years. I was successful in enrollment management as the school population grew from 240-370 students in nine years. National test scores rose 50 percent within three years. I oversaw a 1.4 million dollar addition to the school which was paid for in cash. I redesigned the Morning Star program to expand opportunities and improve outcomes for students with special needs. The middle school has developed a humanities program which fuses religion, literature and writing. I have fostered a school culture that sustains high expectations of faculty, staff and students. We have a true partnership between faculty, staff, parents and students. Strengths: I have the ability to think strategically and implement operationally. I closely mentor teachers and provide leadership tools for their growth. I allow teachers to teach to their strengths and implement programs that enhance their teaching. I have implemented the new Morning Star program, redesigning the curriculum to meet the needs of the students and provide mentors to assist students in learning.
