Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain and Audit the Main Contractor & Sub Contractor’s Activities as per the HSE activity plan, Guidelines & Legal Laws.

Maintain accident statistics, analyse trends and propose and take remedial action where necessary

Investigate or arrange for all accidents and near-misses be investigated, prepare report of Findings, including recommendations to prevent recurrence and implement approved course of action.

Where necessary prepare reports to the enforcing authority as required by the reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations.

Assist and support faculties and departments in the preparation of risk assessments.

Monitor the availability and appropriateness of risk assessments and, where necessary, safe working Practices.

Maintain a register of First Aiders and ensure the adequate provision of first-aid and welfare facilities.

Ensure all First Aiders are appropriately trained, (subject to qualification), Coordinating training to members of staff to enable them to become First Aider's.

Develop procedures to ensure that contractors, suppliers, consultants and other irregular visitors to the company comply with relevant legislation and company safety policies.

Meet and co-operate with visiting health, safety and environmental officers as required.

Available on all hazardous materials and that effective Risk Assessments are in place to manage the handling and use of such substances, all assessments to be reviewed annually.

Monitor the contractor HSE Management System and provide advice and assistance to HSE managers so they comply in a consistent way to reduce the risk to the employees and the environment.

Responsible for ensuring a consistent approach to HSE management and that adequate HSE resource are in Place on site for the contractors manning levels.

Assist/develop HSE system documents (plans, objectives, procedures, and forms as per client requirement.

Setting guidelines to management and all operative departments for effective implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of HSE systems/policies and procedures.

Conduct periodic HSE compliance audits/internal audits/inspections and report the findings to the Management.

Auditing all relevant records (Manual/Procedures, audit plan, NCR’s, training records, meeting minutes, monthly reports, statistical data, correspondences with certification body etc.) pertaining to HSE management system.
