Manage all aspects of nursing and maintained the highest standards of resident care.

Ensure compliance of regulatory Continuing Care Health Service Standards and AHS standards.

Prepared and completed quarterly reports, falls data, immunization rates and AUA data for AHS.

Chaired monthly LPN quality care meetings and bi monthly HCA quality care meetings.

Supervised more than 100 LPNs & HCAs as well as 8 housekeeping staff, 3 maintenance staff, 2 recreation staff and worked closely with the head chef and dietary staff.

Responsible for scheduling & payroll for all staff.

Monitored staff performance and provided coaching or feedback annually and when necessary.

Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team and resident families to implement nursing interventions; evaluated the outcomes of nursing interventions.

Promotes the importance of person centered care and ensures team is notified of residents preferenced via resident task sheets for continuity of care ( ie. if the resident is a late riser - medications and breakfast will be moved to accommodate the individual)

Rounds with various physicians and pharmacists. Ensures the family/decision makers are contacted post rounds prior to medication changes or the follow through of medical appointments with specialists to keep family updated and to foster open communication.

Provides direct and on hands coaching to nursing team (ie. wound care, ostomy care, body mechanics, lift use & complex nursing interventions.)

Works closely with Recreation therapist/team by helping with program planning and ensuring one to one therapy is achived for the individuals who cannot participate in certain activities. (ie. music therapy or sensory therapy for late stage dementia residents.)

Help from Friends in Canada- Edmonton, AB

Project Manager -Fundraised over $10 000 in monetary donations along with 11 full crates emergency relief goods and medications and personally delivered and distributed items directly to the affected victims 10 days post Typhoon Yolanda.

University of Alberta Campus Food Bank - Edmonton, AB

Event Administrator /Photographer -Volunteer liaison and fundraiser for the Powerplay Cup - all donations go towards helping to stop hunger on campus.

Streetlight Philippines, Tacloban, PH

International Nurse/Mentor -Provided wound care and blood pressure clinics to the community and children in the surrounding neighbourhood of the orphanage. Held a Tuberculosis Immunization Clinic for all the children and staff onsite. Provided night feeding missions (1am-5am) to various areas of the community where starvation and subsequent drug abuse is prevalent to relieve hunger pangs. Mentored children between the ages of 3-18 to read and write and created an all girls teen time workshop to provide necessary health education and a safe space to share their hopes, dreams, fears and ambitions.
