Summary of Experience

I have over 30 years of structural engineering with skills focused on Structural Analysis (Concrete and steel), supervision, Coordination and management experience, which encompasses various successful projects worldwide. Structural Engineer – Discipline Lead August 2011 – March 2012 As a Structural Engineer, I was responsible for developing civil projects for the maintenance of steel structures in operation. I worked at the Suncor Refinery to give a prompt answer to any on-site difficulty related to enlargement and recovery of structure to ease operations. Among the roles, participation in-field inspections, issuance of technical and calculation reports and developing a new project to release the area to regular activities. Structural Engineer – Discipline Lead January 2011 – July 2011 (Temporary) As a Structural Engineer, I was responsible for a team with 12 collaborators, being the principal Civil engineer and leader to design steel and concrete structures exclusively. PETROBRAS/ REDUC U-1571 - Contaminated Water Treatment Station (US$ 44 Mi): I was responsible for designing concrete and steel structures, as a floater (Φ 12.0 m), flocculation tank, oxidation tank, aeration tank, nutshell filter, decantation tank, building, pipe rack, platforms, piping supports, drainage galleries, etc. Modification and adequacy of conventional concrete projects to precast projects to accelerate the assembly process, benefiting the construction deadline. I was involved as well in meetings with client inspectors and operators, and coordinators.

I used to be located in Chile, but sometimes, I was in Brazil to meetings with constructors, attending site requirements. During the project, there were some difficulties because of translating the documents the contract had required from Spanish to Portuguese.
