Currently Employed as an OEM Automotive Dealership ASE Master technician Salary $65K. The current trend is switching to electric high voltage automobiles very heavily in the past year. My formal education was in Internal combustion engines. Truck Fleet Service – Oak Creek, WI 2020 to 2021 - Salary $75K

Salaried General Dept. Service Manager – management of the 1st & 2nd shift 2 Shop floor Supervisors and leading a team of 15 1st and 2nd shift truck technicians. I provided guidance for the technicians in difficult technical diagnosis, custom truck engineering & fabrication and oversaw shop operations and employee supervision. I provided guidance in Tier 4 Diesel Engine service and Emissions

I left along with others including the service writers due to ownership untruthfulness and poor overall company management. - They tried to force me to go to one of their other shop locations 62 miles from my home and use my talents as a tech they could not hire techs at that location. – I said NO.

John P. Lochen Equipment Co. Newburg, WI 2019 – 2020 – Salary $70K

Salaried Service Manager for Kubota Power & Construction equipment, Gehl construction equipment and Cub Cadet Lawn & Garden Equipment. I had seven direct report employees and was responsible for all aspects to the service department operations and warranty work with OEM manufacturers and many other short line equipment brands. I provided technical trouble shooting support to my team of technicians as well as worked with the OEM’s national technical support centers for Gehl, Kubota & Cub Cadet technical support. I provided service and technical advice to the Construction, AG, Municipal, and the general end consumer on their equipment questions and service needs. – left to take an advancement as H.D Truck Service Manager position.

Salaried H.D. Truck Technician – provided service and diagnostics on Gas and Diesel ton thru class 8 semi-trucks and specialized service equipment trucks of all types. Engine and transmission service from Gas to 15L diesel engines, electronic gasoline and diesel fuel injection systems, turbo's, electrical / computer controls diagnosis, emission, and tier 4 diesel particulate (DPF) and (DEF) injector systems. Salaried Daily General Manager of the dealership facilities, Logistics, building and grounds, equipment sales lot and the Service Manager for the Ag Equipment Service Department, I also was the Service Manager for the Lawn & Garden Power Center Department. I had fourteen direct report service department employees. I left due to disagreement with upper management to hire the originally promised 2 Service Writer hires that would have helped reduce the 80 plus hours per week and myself having to work 6-1/2 day work weeks to get required work completed which led to my 2nd divorce and moving back to S.E Wis. No Life Balance.

In 2012 I took a Severance buyout package along with Several others in various departments in a company engineering staff down sizing operation. I was the Senior ““Engine Build Lab Technician for The Harley-Davidson Power Train Engineering Research & Development Center with 16 years of service.

Scope: Engine Builder / Machinist. USW Journeyman classification: Experimental Mechanic – Engine Builder / Machinist / Model Maker

As senior Experimental Engine Builder, responsibilities involve working with Lead Engineering Teams to build highly classified prototype test engines for future model product release. Position duties include quality control (ISO9001), metallurgy investigations (Electronic Surface finish measurement RMS), Geometric tolerance measurements (40X finer than the thickness of human hair) with high precision digital measuring equipment & inspections of internal combustion engine components, inputting data into databases, reading blue prints and design engineers’ instructions, machining parts for concept engines and installing thermocouple’s, strain gage’s, pressure transducers, temp plugs, telemetry (radio controlled temp readings) of internal piston temperatures, Fuji film (gasket load) Impressions, ultra-sonic bolt length measurement of fastener’s. Also performed electronic camshaft profile analysis with Cam Doctor machine, engine balance measurement & calculations then performing balance corrections of crankshafts and internal engine parts. Variable Engine Cam timing evaluation and delivering test engines to Dyno Cells for performance evaluation, Engine tearing down, inspecting, measuring, and photographing dimensional wear after tests & failure analysis. Responsibilities included staying apprised of latest engine design and technology component trends in transportation industry, including conducting reverse engineering and evaluation of competitor engines as well as automotive-based Powertrain including gas/diesel and alternative fuels. Additional skills include analysis of variable cam timing, displacement on demand, common rail diesel fuel injection, and electronic engine controls. Experience with contractors, vendors, and suppliers, including overseas assignment at the Porsche AG. R&D Center in Stuttgart, Germany in development of the Harley-Davidson V-Rod engine project as the U.S.A. based Experimental Engine Builder assigned to project. AWARDS

"World Class Technician" - Automotive Hall of Fame Award April 3, 1990. Received from Automotive Industry Service Association in conjunction with the Automotive Service Excellence Association for being Quadruple Master Certified in all the testing areas and was listed to the Automotive Hall of Fame in Midland, Michigan. In a September 1998 letter from ASE, they noted that only 231 technicians in the U.S. had obtained Quadruple Level Master Certification at that time.

HIGHLIGHTS AND HOBBIES

I am most happy working in the shop on gas and diesel engines. I love collecting classic muscle tractors and diesel tractors pulling. I have a few classic muscle cars that I am restoring over time. My other interests include motorcycling, building Hi-Performance engines and engine technology, hunting, shop equipment and tools to make or build anything from steel or aluminum, helping with farming and grain cash cropping on the family farm operation in Central Wisconsin.
