SKILLS

PETROLEUM INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE (DOWNSTREAM) FEBRUARY 2022 - MAY 2022 I have had the privilege of being with the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), APD during two different periods, once as an Industrial Trainee and the other as a National Service Person. Outlined are the roles or tasks I was given. Industrial Trainee

Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited, (APD) Ghana Under Safety,

I ensured compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all safety rules especially the wearing of the appropriate PPEs

I helped direct loaded Bulk Road Vehicle(BRVs) to avoid traffic buildup around the exit gate

I did computer entry and booking of BRVs before entering the depot. Under Pipeline,

I helped line up pipelines to direct flow from offshore vessel into specific tank areas within the depot.

I took part in aligning valves at the Tema Oil Refinery to direct flow to BOST-APD, and subsequently receive product from the vessel offshore, with pig displacement.

I was involved in a quick changeover of valve alignment to switch from one product to the other.

I traced lines from the receiving point to all storage tanks. Under Maintenance,

I carried out daily maintenance checks on specific equipment, including testing of generator set as well as fire station pumps.

I practised the use of water risers to douche fire.

I helped to replace worn out wind sucks hoisted on some storage tanks.

I carried out valve serviceability checks on valves in a tank area.

I formed part of the team that repaired a gantry meter, air conditioner and rewire a control room. Other Assignments

Designed a process flow diagram to encompass all the operations that go on in the depot and suggested alternative methods to reduce the time spent by BRVs in the depot.

Carried out an exercise, under the recommendation of the depot manager, to find the average turn around time of BRVs and the duration they spend at every point of operation. This was done by moving in with the BRV drivers through the entire process. Tank Farm Technician (National Service Person) AUGUST 2017 - JULY 2018 Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited, (APD) Ghana 08/2017 - 07/2018, APD, Accra

As a tank farm operator, I performed the following

Dipping of petroleum reservoir tanks to check the values manually and then confirming the respective values from the control room; done subsequently under no supervision when a high level of accuracy was attained.

Worked closely with my supervisors to take stocks of petroleum product dispensed during the day by comparing initial and final dips, control room readings as well as gantry recordings.
