• Project Management Responsibilities:
o Oversaw the cost/revenue forecast for a $14M monthly portfolio ensuring all labor & materials costs required for each project was within budget. Allocated labor resourcing on daily basis to ensure timely completion of projects. Provided weekly updates to senior management on the progress for each project.
o Entrusted by management to execute a complex HVAC controls project for the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant. Completed project on schedule and budget by proactively identifying cost savings opportunities by leveraging existing infrastructure. o Challenged by my direct supervisor to manage a client relationship with Santa Maria School District that had a history of conflict with previous contractors. Supervised a yearlong installation of a $5M Project of DDC systems for a $50 Million major account for five different schools. This ended with successful completion and gaining a $50M service contract for the company. o Project managed a highly critical data center operations infrastructure upgrade for Union Bank where I worked closely with 5 different contractors to ensure the project stayed on schedule while complying with the minimum downtime expectations of the onsite project manager.
• Project Engineering:
o Directed a number of large projects for the United States Postal Service Distribution Centers by installing a new HVAC controls system with the primary focus for the customer being operational/energy savings. Responsibilities included organizing field teams to promptly begin installing equipment for 25 new Air Handling Units to maximize efficiency & productivity for the client. Provided daily updates to facilities personnel on the progress for the project and providing completion dates that matched the original timeline. o Exclusively put in charge of all engineering duties for the LAX Account under the direction of the overall project manager which was JCI's most profitable major account to date. Responsibilities included working with a team of skilled engineers to create unique design solutions for the client. Regularly attended project meetings with associated project leads to develop timelines for installation for a range of 20-30 different projects. Held weekly meetings with senior management on the progress of all projects for the purpose billing and developing possibilities for new cost change initiatives.
o Synchronized the retrofit of a decades old Johnson Controls pneumatic system by integrating a new HVAC Controls system back to the existing field devices. Primary responsibility was working with facilities personnel and organizing a strategy on how to perform installation for 30 different housing pods as well as coordinating a critical shut down for a central plant installation turnover. o Corresponded with our in-house design team on a complete overhaul of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) central plant system which supply's chilled water to a network of twenty buildings campus wide. Responsibilities included working with our field team to ensure the installation was done in accordance to plan and to kept the construction schedule moving forward. o Oversaw the installation for several control systems at another VAMC site where I worked closely with the chief engineer for the campus. Responsibilities included working with several different contractors to showcase the VAMC vision on how the project was to be executed to meet their high expectations.
• Application Engineering
o Selected hardware designs from the standard design library to create a complete design package consisting of flow diagrams, sequence of operations, and electrical schematics as required. o Worked in a team-oriented environment and developed relationships with the General Contractor, Architect, Engineer as well as suppliers of the various products. o Reviewed specifications and/or mechanical drawings to system engineer a complete direct digital controls (DDC) system.
