Jessica Scarpa
3015 Frederick Street Omaha, NE 402-***-**** ********@*****.*** As a Lead Teacher, Math Coach, and Event Coordinator I possess many diverse skills that are utilized in multiple areas of life and career. Working as an educator and event coordinator have taught me to become efficient in time management, to think strategically, be flexible, and use creative problem-solving skills. These are my strongest attributes that will help me meet the challenges of any profession. I have a passion for positive change and put forth best efforts and best industry practices to reach the common goals of all stakeholders. I bring positive energy and humor to the work environment. I have high expectations for myself and hold others accountable for their responsibilities.
I am well versed with goal setting and timelines. I facilitate environments that are goal oriented and flexible. As a Math Specialist I have created and presented multiple standards based and engaging professional developments to the staff. As an educator I spearheaded the collaboration for a school wide block schedule system to maximize instructional minutes and classroom support staff for all grade levels (24 classrooms) and content areas. I recognized the need for data-based instruction to fill in the missing skills for students and used the students testing data to create intervention groups based on student skills needed. I then created data sheets, and trained support staff on skills that needed to be taught to students. We did bi-weekly check-ins on student progress and new skill training.
I have years of experience in team building and behavior management. I have been a part of designing and implementing our schools MTSS-B team (Multi tier system of support for behavior). I developed innovative interventions based on individual student needs. Some ideas as simple as flexible seating, other programs more complex including behavior management charts, earned breaks, and data collection. I am also trained in Kagan Strategies, which are strategically planned engaging activities that can be team building or curriculum based. Thank you for considering my application, I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely,
Jessica Scarpa
