I have worked as a phlebotomist for 24 years. I am a professional representative of the laboratory who provides excellent customer service. All of my evaluations have been exceeds and excels . Specimen Collection/Handling and Processing
• Knowledge and understanding of proper patient identification.
• Collect and label specimens for requested testing according to CLIA regulations;
• Process specimens according to established guidelines;
• Follow universal precautions in accordance to Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure Control and OSHA standards in work place environment when receive, handle, process and/or package specimens.
Clerical/Data Entry of Lab Tests
• Patient check-in at Laboratory reception;
• Verify patient coverage plan and demographic information making changes as required;
• Retrieve orders from Electronic Medical Record system;
• Prioritize patients according to Vancouver Clinic Lab Specimen Collection Prioritization policy;
• Data entry into the Laboratory Information System for collection and receiving of specimens, lab results and documentation.
Waived Testing
• Perform waived testing as assigned;
• Recognize abnormal results;
• Follow through with reporting/notification of abnormal results according to procedure.
Training and Development
• Cross-train to be able to perform phlebotomy job function at all facilities;
• Demonstrate good judgment in routine, day to day decisions according to policy and procedure;
• Independently make decisions and take action, even in non-routine situations;
• Make reasonably quick decisions when necessary even with incomplete information;
• Consider impact of various options when making decisions; use good judgment in deciding whether to make a decision or escalate it.

• Current Washington State Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist credential.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS CPR certification.
• Medical Assistant Concorde Career Institute Graduate with honors 1995
• 24 years of experience using blood collection techniques in a clinical lab.
• Over 26 years of working with the public or demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals in a positive, friendly and helpful manner.
• Ability to calm patients and work under stressful conditions.
