Office Manager/Registered Medical Assistant May 2010-Present Duties to obtain were front and back office needs for the practice. Front office duties to check-in patients and get their updated information in the chart. Answering phones and triaging the patients for doctors’ appointments. Back office room patients and take vitals, collect U/A’s if needed, eye exams, EKG’s and PFT’s, Endo-Pat tests, 24 hr blood pressure, Watermark Sleep Studies, also when needed I would give injections. Get the chief complaint of the patient for the visit with Dr. After the visit with doctor, I would then do referrals, fill prescription/ fax the prescriptions to the pharmacy, and then collect co-pays. Once Dr. was done seeing patients I would code and bill for the visits. This practice went from paper charting to electronic medical records while I was there. The experience of going from paper charting to EMR was efficiently done. The practice consisted of one Registered Medical Assistant, Doctor, and an office manager. Always had to work efficiently and get things done before the end of the day.
