Duties: Beat geology, including mapping and sampling, ore tracking and grade control, and drill program coordination, including chip logging, mineralogical research and data management, in a detachment fault hosted underground gold mine in the Basin and Range topography near Quartzsite, Arizona.
Aug 2010 - Dec 2011Mine Geologist, Brigus Gold Corp.
Duties: Underground beat geology in a gold mining project within the Destor-Porcupine Shear Zone of Northeastern Ontario. The mineralization is hosted in carbonate-altered and silicified ultramafics and strongly sheared syenite, structurally controlled by the shear zone. I conducted underground mapping, sampling, drill core logging and open pit geological surveys and sampling, including excavation supervision and drill chip logging, as well as data compilation and broken ore tracking, grade control ore blending and mine / mill reconciliations.
Jul 2009 - Aug 2009 Core-logging Geologist, North American Tungsten
Duties: Geological and geotechnical core logging, of definition drilling on a tungsten skarn deposit in the Yukon Territory of Canada. RQD, core orientation using Ball-Mark system, rock strength, core recovery, specific gravity and fluorescent mineral tests were conducted.
April 2007 – June 2009 Mine Geologist, Tagish Lake Gold Corp. Duties: Under the remote supervision of the Mine Superintendent, conducted all aspects of the geological control of an underground gold/silver project undergoing advanced exploration and development in anticipation of a planned initiation of production. Activities included geological mapping, sampling, direction of mining contractors, diamond drill layout, logging and sampling, rock saw use, supply and maintenance, mine planning and compilation, excavation surveying and documentation and database management of information collected.
2002 - 2009Senior Security Officer, Amirco Enterprises, Inuvik, NT Duties: Switchboard operation, dispatching rescue teams, conducting security checks, and general supervision of the security and well-being of patients and staff. Human Resources duties included recruitment, training, and supervision of staff, as well as compiling the biweekly payroll, and the production of monthly, daily and specific occurrence reports. I managed all operations from September 2006 to January 2007 while Principal was on an extended vacation overseas.
1996 – 1998Mine Geologist, Claude Resources Inc., Seabee Gold Mine
Duties: Core logging, sampling, drill-hole planning, layout, geological mapping and sampling, providing guidance to miners on beat, data management, processing, and documentation, ore reserve reconciliations, and other duties as required in the operation of a shrinkage stope gold mine.
July – August 1995Biological Field Researcher, University of Alberta, Edmonton Duties: Assisted with a flora and fauna benchmark survey on the effects of forestry logging near lacustrine environments in Northern Alberta. The work included grid set-up, orienteering, live-trapping of small animals, plotting results, and data entry. In addition, I assisted with the management of a Biological Research Station, including liaison with researchers, accommodations management, data entry, account reconciliations, equipment maintenance, and leading high school field trips.
1989 – 1996Market Manager. 99 Street Flea Market, Edmonton Duties: Rentals, sales, building renovations and maintenance, janitorial, advertising, and purchasing. Accounts payable and receivable were updated daily and weekly reconciliations and bank deposits were completed. I was also involved in long-range planning and implementation of such planning including promotions and construction activities.

Duties: Diamond drill core logging, sampling, plotting; surveying and drill-hole layout, in banded iron formation gold deposit, Back R., NT, West of Contwoyto Lake. Subsequent work preparing the final report to the client, out of the Edmonton office.
Nov. - Dec. 1986Technical Writer, Alberta Government, Dept. of Energy & Natural Resources. Duties: Assisted in the compilation and writing of an administrative procedures manual for the government department.
Oct. 1983 – Sept. 1986Mine Geologist, Terra Mines Ltd., Bullmoose Mine, NWT Duties: Beat geology [mapping, sampling, etc], sample preparation, core rack construction and maintenance, assist with surveying, and data management.
Sept. 1981 – May 1982Geological Technician, Government of Alberta, Environment Dept. Duties: Cataloging data from various types of drill programs from petroleum exploration, inclusive of structure geological test holes, gamma reflection, magnetic, and electrical resistivity logs. From this information, an atlas of aquifers throughout the province was produced.
1979 – 1980 Geological Technician, Eldorado Nuclear, Uranium City, Saskatchewan Duties: Geological mapping, radiometric test hole surveys, drafting, and surveying, in an underground and surface uranium mine.
1977 – 1978 Geology Technician, Provincial Museum of Alberta, Edmonton Duties: Established a cataloging system for the museum’s rock, mineral and fossil collection, consisting of over 14,000 specimens.
Accreditations, Memberships: Alberta Driver’s Licenses, Standard First Aid with CPR and AED (exp. October 2022), Construction Safety Certification, past member, Canadian Institute of Mining, and the Yukon Chamber of Mines. I hold dual citizenship (USA / Canada).
