Consolidated Communications (January 2005 to March 2010)

Team member of large of team with annual ‘Releases’ of conversion effort to combine two different versions of DPI software (due to acquisitions) modified through the years into a single set of applications.

Tenure included:

Conversion team working directly with data mapping programming and high level statistical reporting.

Interface of DPI plant (mostly within SO processing) and non AS400 applications handling internet and television applications.

Plant and Service Order day to day heat ticket resolution, primarily within Plant and SO system.

Frontier Communications (November 2003 to December 2004)

Provided user support for both trouble call and enhancement requests for DPI software (a leading telecommunications application suite) primarily within the ‘Plant’ application. Considerable effort in a ILE environment to standardize user presentations as well specific functional enhancements to streamline overall processing and new access line acquisitions capabilities. Used Turnover change management software, Hawkeye, DBU. All programming in RPG-ILE, Free - on an AS/400.

Suiza/Dean Foods (January 2002 to Jan 2003; June 2003 to Oct 2003)

Develop and implement pre & post feed/receipt and change management of various BPCS data sets to third party warehouses, interface with existing EDI and host BPCS functions via embedded SQL when appropriate. Considerable design and implementation of pricing functions, including ‘Mass Change’ and reporting of pricing by Customer/Ship To. Served as liaison between users and data for both new formal reporting and Ad Hoc reporting requests. Employed tools such as Hawkeye, DBU, SQL and IBM Query for project analysis and testing in a software environment controlled by Aldon Implementer. All programming in RPG-ILE, Free - on an AS/400.

Citizens Communications (September 1999 to December 2001)

Provided user support for both trouble call and enhancement requests for DPI software (a leading telecommunications application suite) primarily within the ‘Plant’ application. Considerable effort in a ILE environment to standardize user presentations as well as to remove number of access line barriers inherent in original software design. Helped Design and develop real-time DPI integration with third-party interactive voice response (IVR) and work force management (WFM) systems using RPG-ILE, TCP/IP, SQL, MQSeries, data queues. Used Turnover change management software, Hawkeye, DBU. All programming in RPG-ILE, on an AS/400.

American Pad & Paper (September 1998 to September 1999)

Designed tools and coded about 2,000 Client Developed Programs, and modified J.D. Edwards programs upgrading from J.D. Edwards Release A5.2 to Release A7.3 (file environments). Used various system tools and third party products such as Hawkeye, DBU, IBM Query and a host of tools I created to determine which files had changed and how. During this process some maintenance to and enhancements of current Client Developed applications. All programming in RPG-ILE, on an AS/400.

Ugly Duckling Car Sales (January 1998 to September 1998)

Maintenance and enhancement of in-house software for the Used Car Sales and 'Discounted' Loan Portfolio market using DBU, Hawkeye, and Silvon Implementer. RPG-ILE on an AS/400

Sally Beauty Supply (August 1997 to January 1998)

Conversion of System 36 software systems to AS/400, facilitating Year 2000 compliance in the process.

Tandy Corporation (May 1997 to August 1997)

Modified existing inventory and replenishment systems to separate open/return goods. Added ability to use this quantity after being factored by system percentage in replenishment processing. AS/400.

CompUSA (May 1996 to April 1997)

Provided production support for in-house staff and major projects. Performed problem analysis and priority enhancements outside the scope of major projects. Main objective to free existing personnel from day to day software maintenance facilitating a timely completion of several major project milestones. AS/400.

Cornerstone (January 1993 to April 1996)

An IBM Business Partner selling IBM equipment, and MAPICS manufacturing software. Provided pre & post sale technical support for the AS/400 and MAPICS software.

Sweda (October 1995 to Jan 1996)

Automation of General Ledger and Report Writer functions to handle approximately 800,000 GL accounts. This was for an international company that insisted on a GL account structure not suited for the MAPICS software they had installed. Initial time estimates showed that each month end would require about thirty-six days of machine processing time to produce a single set of reports. Automated GL formatting functions to create format files and to create/modify Report Writer control files as part of reporting steps. Modified GL reporting to produce an unlimited number of reports processing transactional information but once. Processing time for a set of month end reports slashed to approximately three hours.

Cameo Coutures (Jan 1993 October 1995)

A Multi Level Direct Sales Organization (Pyramid) of Lingerie with annual sales of approximately 35 Million. Interfaced a third party written Order Entry and Commissioning system with MAPICS accounts receivable. Involved passing both invoice and payment data as this was a pre pay business. Considerable modifications to AIC and Commissioning system: Pricing computations. Interfaced with Vertex Sales Tax module to perform sales tax computations by zip code. Controlled application of shipping and handling fees. Automated Contest tracking/reporting. Substitution items. Invoiced grouping to remote need for manual sorting. Held orders x days before triggering back order process. AS/400.

Dynamo, Ltd. (March 1987 to December 1992; some lingering support though 1996.)

System Administration and all application design/programming. Dynamo is a gaming manufacturer (Pool, Air Hockey, Soccer, Video) with annual sales of 40 million. Responsible for conversion from System 36 to RS/6000 running OPEN36 software emulating the System 36 environment. Responsible for all aspects of system design, programming, as well as all system administration functions. Also responsible for administration of Novell 3.12 Network. Customer base was mostly manufacturing companies with a few distribution companies. Developed/evolved programming tools automating application generation for a variety of manufacturing/distribution customers.
