Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

GAMA Power Systems Engineering and Contracting,

RADES-C 450 MW MITSUBISHI HITASHI Combined Cycle Power Plant, Tunisia.

- Direct experience as engineer responsible for calibration, installation, inspection of Gas & Steam Turbines, Condenser, HRSG instruments including (pressure PT/PDT/PI, temperature TC/RTD/TI, Level, flow, density, speed & vibration sensors…).

- Direct experience as engineer responsible for installation and testing of 300MW GT & 150MW ST Generators including Bushing & CT’s & VT’s, Excitation & SFC Transformers and Panels, Thyristors, DC Bus duct and Slip ring, PMG & Exciter, AVR.

- Experience in Electrical systems installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning as currently used in industrial facilities as 6.6KV MV switchgears,400V LV switchgears, 400V MCC’s,VFD, 220VDC & 230V UPS systems, Lighting, Inverters & Converters, Batteries back-up system, Power Transformers, Circuit Breakers, protection relays, Bus bar & bus duct, Earthing & lightning systems.

- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of technical drawings (one line & wiring diagrams, controls logic, schematics, Protection & Interlock diagrams, P&ID,Hook-up drawings, impulse line tubing, etc.).

- Verification of cable list, cable drum management, cable termination, cable tray, support & conduit, BOQ, I/O signals list, instruments & valves lists and provide technical specification for each equipment as well as coordination with procurement department during purchasing process.

- Preparation & review methods of statement for the execution of any activity and Ensure that construction subcontractors working within his discipline adhere strictly to the latest Approved for Construction (AFC) project drawings, Specifications, ITPs, Procedures and Site Instructions.

- Ensure that all construction subcontractors’ supervision and manpower are instructed in and comply with all aspects of HSES policy, site regulations, permit to work procedures and instructions and Client requirements.

- Prioritize high-priority work scopes with the construction leads to meet the plan and working closely with the schedulers to deliver these.

- Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues relating to the electrical/instrumentation discipline.

- Check plant, equipment and materials delivered are as approved and are properly stored.

- Assist and collaborate with E&I Commissioning leaders for the preparation of functional testing & energization procedures.

- Provide Assistance, support and advise to E&I Commissioning supervisors/technicians during cold & hot loop checks of cables, instruments and verification of I/O signals between fields, DCS & Electrical panels.

- Coordinate with the client on all quality related issues to ensure a consistent approach to client relationships and to investigate customer queries and complaints.

- Manage the client attendance at the agreed inspection and/or witness points in accordance with the project contract and handover programme.

- Prepare, execute, and maintain all required project quality documentation (i.e., internal Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), work instructions, QC checklists, Punch lists, reports, tests procedure, etc.).

- Perform inspections of all electrical work in progress on a continual basis and complete final checkout of electrical installations to ensure quality and conformance to specifications and codes prior to turnover to client.

- Participates in FAT & SAT with client representative and inspect completed installations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

- Knowledge on international Electrical codes/standards like IEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, NEC, BS...

- Managing all technical queries on site and assist project team in all site electrical & instrumentation engineering issues to include the management, the planning, the testing and commissioning and the handover of all project systems.

- Ensure that all Electrical and instrumentation works on site are carried out as per the approved method of statements and drawings.

- Supervision & technical advice of all Electrical & Instrumentation activities related to Gas turbine 9FA & Generator including auxiliaries systems (Fuel gas, oil, air….)

- Supervision of BOP Electrical installations activities including 220KV switchyard (GIS & HIS), MV/LV & MCC’s panels, DC & UPS system, Transformers, HVAC & Fire detection systems, Lighting, Lightning, grounding grid system, Water treatment plant.

- Receive material inspection requests (MIR) from contractor, inspect electrical & instrumentation materials delivered at site and report on quantity and technical compliance and sign off requests.

- Ensures that all the works have done are in accordance with the approved construction drawings, contract documents, project specifications, and all applicable standards.

- Preparation and finalization of all electrical & instrumentation inspections with client/contractor representatives and organize turnover package (mechanical achievement) from construction to commissioning of all power plant systems.

- Responsible to set project turnover procedures (Quality Tracking, Walk-Downs, Punch listing, etc.) and implement with various site contractors.

- Experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning of different auxiliaries systems related to gas turbine 9FA and BOP systems:

Testing of electrical cables HV/MV/LV (Loop check, insulation, hi-pot ).

Testing of Transformers (IR, Tan D, Winding resistance, Ratio…).

Testing of MV/LV switchgears, MCC’s, Lighting panels (IR, Contact resistance, Hi-pot…).

Testing of CT&VT (IR, ratio, Polarity, Winding R…).

Testing of all motors (IR, rotation direction, Solo run & on load test, temperature & vibration measurement ...).

Verification of all I/O signals between Electrical Panels, DCS and GE MARKIV controller.

Perform cold & hot loop check for all instruments & cables related to Gas turbine, Generator and auxiliaries.

Perform pre-com & commissioning of GT & BOP Fire detection system TOMCO2 and SANCO.

- Manage and supervise team of punches closing and organize inspections with Client representative.
