I was directly responsible and accountable to the Department Manager for the day- to day operations of the front and back desk, in multiple departments. The patient Service Representative IV (PSR-IV), must demonstrate and act as a role model in regards to professionalism, efficiency, courtesy and compassion as they work with patients, physicians and co-pays, telephone messages, chart preparations and variety of related functions. Work closely with Patient Service Representative Level I’s and II’s in creating patient department operations, and excellent customer service. Follow department protocol for computerized appointment scheduling schedules, confirms, cancels and reschedules patient appointments as indicated to accurately the day visit, mandatory verification of current information on patient’s accounts and chart assignment through combined registration. Collect patients payments and posts on –line through the CMG computerized cashiering module according to all policies / procedures established by the business office, and front/back desk operations department. Accurately reconciles receipts daily in accordance with policy/procedures established by the Accounting and Front Desk Operations Department.
Prepares charts for the following day appointments, cross reference charts with computerized appointment schedule, and order any missing chart, prepare necessary paperwork if the chart is unavailable. Utilizes problem-solving skills to resolve skills to resolve department issues and concerns including complaints and meet the needs of each patient. Works with the back office staff to complement and assure the smooth operations of the department and each position’s practice. Responsible for attending meetings as appropriate, communicating information back to front and back office staff and providing training when needed, also responsible for orienting and training new front office staff as well as ongoing training for current front office staff. Work with department Manager to assure that the front and back desk is operating in accordance with policy and procedures including department dress code, assist the Manager in interviewing, counseling and performance evaluations of the patient Services Reports (PSR). Assist with implementation of new policies and procedures. Responsible for scheduling front office staff including rest and meal breaks, monitor and delegates the working of the MSR reports, completing within the designated time period.
