Dr. Melissa Zielinski, UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute, Trauma-Related Pathology And Recovery
As a visiting research assistant, I supported Dr. Melissa Zielinski’s studies in regard to mental health and substance abuse conducted at the Pulaski County Jail located in Little Rock, AR. During the assignment, I was tasked with interviewing participants in the jail to assess, using standardized surveys, prior and current mental health status and history of substance abuse. In addition, I facilitated discussion with the participants on how to improve programs for substance abuse in jails.
