Responsible for three software products that once implemented will assist the deployed units with security patch management, security compliance and movement of assets and personnel

to and from home port. These projects required a strong level of security and multiple reviews in order to determine that the solutions were in compliance with the DISA security policies. In addition a Secret security clearance has been obtained in order to work on this engagement.

Primary responsibility for the Domestic MPLS Network Migration. Project requires interfacing with the business, outside vendors and technical resources within EDS. To implement this project, I was required to oversee the ordering of new circuits, scheduling and budget for the project activities, and test and turn-up of new connectivity. The scope of the project includes over 500 new circuits along with closeout activities. The biggest challenge to this project has been the client interruption of the project mid-stream creating schedule delays and budget over-runs.

The EDS Program Manager has decided to bring this position “in-house” to achieve better financial results to EDS for the project. My exit date is March 1, 2007.

Engaged at United Air Lines

Completed an eight month engagement that entailed the deployment of over 850 workstations and 600 printers for United Air Lines World wide. Gathered the technical requirements and developed project plans, time lines, and task lists. Assigned resources and determined durations for all tasks. Assisted other project managers with the tracking and communications plan for the project. This project was conducted in a challenging technical and physical environment that required extra care be used in order to limit any disruption to normal business operations. During my tenure on this project, three other project managers left the project and United Air Lines outsourced the entire work force that was to be used for the deployment. Through this environment, the deployment moved forward with a minimal amount of schedule slip.

As a key member of the management team, lead engagements through the full project life cycle. Participated in planning activities for clients, assembled the necessary resources required to successfully complete projects, and directed the execution of project plans. Key participant in client engagements involving enterprise-wide IT projects. Directed projects in procurement of wide area network connectivity. Advised senior management in process changes and change management.

Developed plans and executed project to implement a campus MAN (metropolitan area network). Included the installation of Lucent equipment including fiber optic switches. Tasks included the configuration and final test of the network through a SONET self-healing network.

Led technical team in build out of nationwide ATM network deployed to thirteen geographical areas. Tasks included configuration of Nortel switches, CSU/DSU in an inverse mux configuration, and the configuration of Cisco routers and switches. Final test of the entire network and monitoring equipment including HP Openview.

Directed network assessment to improve operational characteristics and scalability of major nationwide retailer resulting in 30% improvement in transaction throughput while reducing overall costs by 5%. Tasks included development of a tactical and strategic plan for the enterprise.

Led major expansion effort of large international retailer ensuring all communications infrastructure was operational prior to store opening date. Tasks included configuration of Cisco routers and switches, ordering WAN frame relay circuits, overseeing cable plant installation and insuring all new store voice communications were operational on opening day.

Genuity (BBN Planet) 1994 – 1997

Senior Network Engineer

Planned and implemented infrastructure build-out for operations in western United States. Duties included staging equipment, scheduling build-out activities, and leading implementation team.

Participated in the conversion process to migrate the Bay Area Research Network for a research entity to a commercial entity. Tasks included installation of Cisco routers and switches. Configuration of CSU/DSU, ordering new circuits for new customers. Provisioning of the new circuits at the central office.

Provided 7X24 support to the network. Made repairs to the network as required. Tasks included replacement of Cisco routers and switches, re-configuration and final test of all network appliances.

Made recommendations to improve overall customer support.

United Air Lines 1989 – 1992

Remote Terminal Maintainer

Planned and implemented installation of Apollo Airline Reservations systems in travel agency offices. Contributed to overall growth in Bay Area market by refining end-to-end process and assisting Marketing Team with sales presentations.

Recommended equipment to be sold and installed at travel agency offices. Submitted orders for equipment and planned installation with agency.

Worked with outside vendors on behalf of agency to insure agency office would adequately accommodate new equipment.

Supported communications product line throughout Asia Pacific Area. Escalated design issues to R&D, provided new product rollout plans for field offices, developed and delivered training to field engineers, and provided third level technical support to field engineers.

Responsible for the communications product line of Wang Laboratories. Products included terminal emulation services, WANGNET (LAN designed to run on a cable backbone), and other emulators for industry standards such as Bisync, IBM 3780, and IBM SNA etc.

Key contributor to area-wide training effort. Developed training modules to improve skill level of field engineers. Delivered training classes to over 100 engineers throughout Asia Pacific Area.

Developed escalation procedures to track open design issues and tracked progress on open issues.

Provided and executed rollout plans for new product introductions.
