Joshen Paper and Packaging, Grand Blanc MI: March 2014---Present Senior Buyer; purchasing maintenance, sanitation, janitorial and food packaging products for a nationwide company. I work with the sales team to determine the appropriate levels of goods that must be procured on a weekly basis to keep the branch fully stocked with product at all time. This entails purchasing commodities from nearly 100 vendors worldwide. I personally purchase about $250,000 per week in product. I am proficient in the use of the S2K inventory management system. I am also responsible for maintaining the POD contracts and rebates for my branch in Grand Blanc MI. Smithsonian Institute-Wilson Center, Washington, DC: July 2007 – March 2014 As the Center’s Support Services Specialist I manage daily maintenance, construction projects, telecommunications, safety, and security needs for the Center. I was responsible for the administration of contracts that pertain to the facility management of the Center. As the liaison between GSA and outside contractors I facilitate the process of procuring and overseeing these contracts and projects. I was responsible for the procurement of maintenance and construction related materials and services needed to run the daily maintenance operations of the center as well as large construction projects. I have reviewed the Reagan Building maintenance contracts worth nearly $40,000,000. As COTR for the Center's construction and maintenance projects I have personally overseen millions of dollars in renovation and construction during my tenure. I have had extensive federal and Smithsonian training for the administration of contracts, acquisitions, and inventory and property management. General Motors Corporation, Pontiac, Flint and Saginaw MI: June 1994 – March 2006 Over the course of many years at General Motors as a contractor and full time employee, I worked in a number of facilities specializing in different areas of manufacturing, maintenance, construction and demolition. I was responsible for procurement and contract maintenance in facilities. My responsibilities included maintenance, fire protection, production, safety, scrap, recycling and janitorial management. These facilities included manufacturing, office, food service, and engineering space As well as power plants, waste treatment, rail, transportations and storage facilities. I coordinated facility maintenance budgets, manpower, supplies, and related activities including union negotiations and labor contracts. At these facilities I was responsible for writing and administering contracts for both goods and services. Radisson Hotel and Convention Center, Flint MI: July 1991 – June 1994 I was responsible for the daily maintenance and up keep of a 369 room hotel and convention center, including the daily scheduling of repairs and preventative maintenance for the 16 building engineers. I was also responsible for departmental budgets and manpower requirements for the engineering group and oversaw construction/renovation projects for the 17 story building. I interacted with contractors and vendors on a regular basis, directing their activities and authorizing their payment. This facility was capable of holding several thousand guests in the hotel’s tower. The hotels convention center also was host to all types of private and civic events, and maintained full kitchen facilities. The hotel was host to large events including the mayor’s ball and a visit by Hillary Clinton, then presidential hopeful first lady.
