Project Description :

The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited is a major South African bank and financial services group. It is Africa's biggest lender by assets. The company's corporate headquarters, Standard Bank Centre, is situated in Simmonds Street, Johannesburg.

As Teradata DBA, was responsible for overall Development, Test and Production Systems of Teradata, including runtime optimization, capacity management and planning, security, configuration, scheduling and execution of maintenance. Responsibilities include, Weekly planning and Backup of the Production Database, Space Utilization Optimization and Calculations, Index and Statistics Analysis.

Responsibilities:

As Teradata DBA, the responsibilities were to deliver new and complex, high quality solutions to clients in response to varying business requirements. Some of them being

Teradata database administration of 1 production & 1 (QA/DR) development databases.

Implementation of the New Database, including Create database objects for tables, users, roles and Profiles.

Profile, Role management of database users.

Service Now ticket system tool for user request such as user creation, promotion objects from TEST database to INT database, from INT database to QA database & QA database to PROD database, backup & restore activity.

Daily activities like user management, access rights, Space management, releasing lock for MLOAD &FASTLOAD, dropping utility tables.

Monitor user session using viewpoint for CPU& I/O skew and abort the same.

Performance tuning for user queries and schedule load jobs.
