ABOUT ME

After completing my MBBS I am pursuing Plastic surgery Direct 6 year course from Baby Memorial Hospital, Kozhikode, Kerala. I have passed the DNB final exams held in March 2021, and will be completing my course in March 2022. Baby Memorial Hospital (www.babymhospital.org )is an 600 bedded ISO & NABH certified tertiary referral centre and has all the basic and super specialty departments and houses the busiest trauma centre in the region. Our unit consists of four plastic surgeons, six resident trainees, 10 member OT nursing staff, physiotherapist, speech therapists, two dedicated operation theatres and a dedicated post operative intensive care unit with skilled nursing staff. There is also a dedicated Burns unit under the department of plastic surgery. We do all spectrum of plastic surgery cases- hand surgeries, post traumatic upper limb reconstruction including digital replant, microvascular tissue transfer, cleft lip surgeries, burns, cosmetic surgeries. Department does around 50-75 hand surgeries in a month. We do almost thirty micro vascular surgeries including digital replantation, free flaps in a year, we also had the regional smile train center conducting almost 75-100 free cleft surgeries every year.

I am competent in hand surgeries like flexor and extensor tendon repairs, fracture fixation, finger tip injuries, local and regional flap of hand including groin flap, and other hand surgeries like dupuytrens contracture release, post burns contracture surgeries and common congenital hand deformity corrections. I am competent in doing microvascular surgeries like revascularization, digital replantation and free tissue transfers like lattismus dorsi muscle flap, gracilis muscle flap, radial forearm flap and ALT free flaps. I am also familiar with common cosmetic surgeries like liposuction, gynecomastia correction, breast augmentation and reduction abdominoplasty, rhinoplasty, body contouring, upper and lower body lift, thigh lift.

To extend my knowledge of various aspects of plastic surgery I have also underwent observership from Amrita Hospital, Kochi, Tata Memoroial Hospital Mumbai for post onco reconstruction and, and JNMC Belgaum in cleft surgeries.
