NP Clinical Experiences:
-Worked with Whitney Sewell at Blue Ridge Orthopedics. Assisted with and performed intra-articular steroid and visco supplementation injections of the knee (including PRP injections). Observed in the OR with cases involving ACL/MCL/LCL repairs, rotator cuff repairs, carpal tunnel releases. Assisted with splinting and casting. Assisted with writing pre operative history and physicals. Intepretated diagnostic films including X-ray, CT, and MRI. Evaluated pre operative and post operative patients and their plans of care with physical therapy.
-Worked with Brittany Maffett at Endocrinolgy Specialists and Thyroid Center through Prisma Health. Assisted with evaluation of patient’s with chronic and acute endocrine illnesses including: diabetes, hypo/hyper thyroidism, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and endocrine tumors/cancers. Performed hospital rounds to change plan of care for patients that were acutely ill.
-Worked with Clemson University’s Sullivan Center with underserved patient populations for general health and wellness screenings, sick visits, emergency visits, and OBGYN clinic.
- Worked at the Prisma OBGYN clinic. Provided care to women seeking prenatal, pregnant, and postnatal. Performed STD screening and diagnostics.
-Worked at Simpsonville Family Practice through Prisma Health treating patients with acute, chronic, and newly diagnosed diseases. Ordered X-rays, CT’s, MRI’s, and Ultrasounds for patients in need. Managed and ordered lab values and titrated medications or treatments accordingly. Performed patient visits alone and developed a plan for my preceptor to treat the patients. Direct admitted patient’s for serious acute diseases. This was a very busy rotation and could treat upwards of 25-30 patient’s per day.
- Currently employed with Blue Ridge Orthopedics as a nurse practitioner. Duties include in clinic setting evaluations for pre op, post op evaluations, urgent visits, knee and shoulder visco supplementations and PRP injections, and trigger point injections. In clinic I also order and dictate diagnostic films including xrays, CT scans, MRI’s, and bone scans. In the hospital setting I see patients for preoperative history and physicals along side rounding on all of our patient’s that are currently admitted while being on call for emergencies or consults in the emergency department. I am also first assist in the OR for any orthopedic or sports medicine surgeries. Surgeries include total joint replacements, ligamentous repairs, tendon repairs, surgical fixations of fractures, nerve releases such as carpal tunnel or cubital tunnel. My duties include maintaining sterile techniques, assisting the surgeons, and closing of surgical wounds. I frequently splint and reduce fractures and dislocations. I have experience with being on call on weeknights and weekends.

As an extern I worked on orthopedic, vascular, med/surg, and telemetry, and progressive care units. I also worked in the CCU, ICU, CICU and the emergency care center and was offered a job in each area.
Earned nursing license in January of 2014 and have since been employed as a critical care nurse and interventional radiology nurse.
Achieved experience in various critical care settings including neuro, trauma, medical, surgical, cardiac, and coronary intensive care units.
