NANOFIBROUS SCAFFOLD LACED WITH PLANT EXTRACT: EVALUATION AND ITS EFFECT ON FIBROBLAST CELLS Nanofibrous scaffold is a native extracellular matrix used for wound healing and skin tissue regeneration. Our main aim is to sustained release of drug. Collagen is one of the main components of extracellular matrix, and there has been much interest in new sources for application as a biomaterial. The combination of this collagen with poly-ԑ-caprolactone was successfully electrospun, and a distribution of diameters was obtained, less than 100 nm. Tridax procumbens plant extracts were encapsulated inside polymer fibers containing poly-ԑ-caprolactone and collagen using the co-axial electrospinning technique. The prepared core-shell fibrous mats containing medical herb have a great potential for wound healing application.
