Role: Indexing Record / Mail Clerk
Responsibilities:
The ability to scan and index Claim insurance records accurately
Reviews scanned documents for legibility, prior to indexing
Scans information into data imaging system to be indexed
Prepares records for scanning by removing staples, post-it notes, and paper clips
Reviews Batched documents, verifying correct chart order when indexing records to scan
Verifies that number of pages per batch cover sheet are the same as number of pages received
Processes claim record documents received in the mail
Place the Claim mails in proper buckets for distribution then sort and collate the mails.
Analyze the incorrect returned mail and place the Date stamp to all incoming mails and Sort mail such as returned letters, adjustments, bills, orders, and payments.
Receive the outgoing claim mails and apply correct postage and then arrange for pickup of outgoing mail.
Stamp mail with postage meters and also weigh mail to determine correct postage, fold letters, circulars, or other documents and insert into envelopes for distribution
Place mail in metal bins and carry to departments for distribution and also maintain records for registered mails
